Help us kick off our campaign! I pledged not to take any corporate PAC or lobbyist dollars in this race. That means I need support from regular people like you. When Rhode Islanders work together, there's nothing we can't achieve! #Hoffman4RI https://t.co/nUlwGuAUtA
Hi #RhodeIsland! I know you’re concerned about #COVIDー19 but here’s some useful info for you. First off, if you do get sick remember that we are in the middle of flu season and there’s also a whole host of other nasty viruses out there which you more than likely have. Breathe.
Wendy created the first nonprofit in Rhode Island specifically for LGBTQ youth. Thanks to her work and advocacy, Youth Pride Inc. has served thousands of RI's queer youth ages 13-23, including me. Congrulations @wbeckeroo I can't think of a more deserving person.
I believe in a green future. I believe in our ability to make it a reality. Can't wait to fight for it on Smith Hill with @RepMoira_Jayne and @sunrise_PVD. #GreenNewDeal@sunrisemvmt
I read this morning that Mayor Pete plans to attack Medicare For All, for political gain in Nevada. This will thrill my old pals in the insurance industry, as Pete's plan preserves the very system that makes them huge profits while bankrupting & killing millions. Here's why. 1/7
@DebraMessing Thank you for this show. I can't express how much this show has meant to me since it first aired as the queer child of a gay man. It gave me hope in a world that was near void of any representation when I needed it most. Thank you for helping to pave the way and for you advocacy.
In RI, the poorest 20% (people who make less than $21,700 per year) pay 12.1% of their annual income in state and local taxes. The richest 1% (people who make over $467,700) pay only 7.9%. Everybody in the middle pays between 9% and 10%.
This first photo shows youth from Sunrise South County who went to urge Rep. Jim Langevin to support the Green New Deal for Public Housing Act! This bill presents a once in a generation opportunity to fight climate change and our public housing crisis at the same time. (1/3)
“That’s why I’m running with the Co-op, because I’d always hoped that at some point, my Democratic Party would care about me.”
The RI Democratic Party literally endorsed Moira Walsh’s Trump-supporting Republican opponent. If they thought that would stop her, they were dead wrong.
“I’ve decided to join the Co-op because it allows normal people like me, a young Hispanic, woman of color, with a low-income background, the support to be an advocate for her community.”
Adamaris Villar is gonna return our party to the people! Corporate Democrats beware.
“For too long, leaders at the State House have prioritized corporate subsidies over investing in our healthcare system. For too long, they have prioritized tax cuts for the rich over schools.”
Folks, this guy gets it. Lenny Cioe has joined Team Trounce the Corrupt Establishment!
I am Jewish. I am an American. I was born here, I was raised here. I am not an Israeli and have never been to Israel. I will not be defined by an anti-Semitic, racist, xenophobe.
In 2006 the RIGA passed a tax cut that, among other things, reduced the marginal tax rate for the highest-income individuals from 9.9% to 5.99%. The portion of that tax reduction went to just the wealthiest 1% reduced state revenues by more than $1 billion over the past 13 years.
The @ripolcoop members support raising the minimum wage to at least $15/hr. Many states, including Massachusetts and Connecticut, have already passed legislation phasing in a $15 min wage. A full-time, year-round employee making $15 per hour earns $31,200 annually before taxes.
The 13 GA incumbents our candidates are challenging have taken a total of $640,000 in campaign donations from corp PACs and corp lobbyists since 2002, which is as far back as records extend. All @ripolcoop candidates have pledged to take no money from corp PACs or corp lobbyists.
ANNOUNCEMENT - hope you can join us tomorrow (Dec. 10th) at the State House at 2pm to meet our new candidates and hear about our bold policy proposals!
