*South Africa's @MYANC will emerge stronger from GNU if they emulate President ED Mnangagwa and ZANU PF*
On 2 August 2024, the ANC's(African National Congress) main partner in their GNU(Government of National Unity), that is the Democratic Alliance, typical of a snake made a venomous public statement calling the GNU to push for Zimbabwe to not host the 44th SADC Summit and by extension for President ED Mnangagwa to not assume the Chairmanship of SADC. The statement went overboard and overdrive raving, ranting, name calling and railing against the ZANU PF Government.
In light of that misguided and venomous statement by the DA which came to naught, I have been compelled to think about how the ANC can emerge stronger from this strange GNU when it comes to an end.
The ANC will emerge stronger from their GNU with their opponents like the Democratic Alliance if they let themselves learn from the Zimbabwe experience where ZANU PF particularly its current 3 seniors leaders(President ED Mnangagwa and his 2 Deputies VP Chiwenga and VP Mohadi) who are a resevoir of knowledge and experience of how to navigate strange inclusive power sharing formations for example:
1. The early 1980s integration of ZANLA and ZIPRA with Rhodesian forces with whom ZANLA and ZIPRA had fought a bloody war against was successfully led by Cde ED Mnangagwa. Cde Chiwenga and Cde Mohadi were deeply involved in facilitating the process therefore the ANC has a lot to learn from them on how to navigate invidious situations. In this case the ANC is in a less difficult situation than ZANU PF was in 1980 since they don't have to integrate with the enemy as was the case with ZANU PF then. The ANC just have to temporarily co-exist in Government with their opponents then offload the opponents when opportunity manifests.
2. The ZANU PF and (PF) ZAPU Unity Accord of 1987:
The Unity accord which Zimbabweans celebrate every 22nd of December was preceded by disturbances in the Matebeleland and Midlands regions of Zimbabwe. Still through facilitation of Cde Mnangagwa, Cde Chiwenga, Cde Mohadi and other Comrades, Zimbabweans were able to end the bloody conflict and cement national unity. The ANC has a less tough task since their Government of National Unity is not preceded by bloody conflict but rather electoral circumstances of a hung Parliament. They can learn a lot from ZANU PF especially seniors leaders like Cde ED Mnangagwa, Cde Chiwenga and Cde Mohadi.
3.The Zimbabwe GNU experience: again Cde Mnangagwa, Cde Chiwenga and Cde Mohadi were instrumental in its conception, consumation and consumption. How to co-exist with Opponents in Government is something the 3 Comrades know too well. The ANC therefore has experienced Comrades to learn from in as far as navigating awkward formations is concerned.
3. How to keep a liberation movement united and governing as a sole ruling party with majority vote of the people:
President ED Mnangagwa has done this exceptionally well even though he had every reason to be vindictive and vengeful when he became the President of ZANU PF and Zimbabwe in November 2017 following years of being tormented from within ZANU PF.
The art of containing internal contradictions is something which President ED Mnangagwa mastered assisted by his 2 Deputies. The ANC stands to benefit from such.

H.E. President @edmnangagwa visits Nanjing Army Command College in the Jiangsu province of China. Many Zimbabwean military officers have received higher command training at the college before and after Zimbabwe’s independence.
In 1964 when he was 20 years old, President Mnangagwa was trained at the college as he and fellow cadres got ready for the armed struggle to liberate Zimbabwe.
For President Mnangagwa, the visit was a significant one that brought back memories as he reflected on the critical time when he received training that enabled him to wage the struggle for freedom.
The President said he was happy to be back at the college and expressed his deep appreciation for the role the institution played in training the first group of freedom fighters.

The spacious NPB accommodates a combined total of 450 Members ofParliament, more poignantly 350 in the National Assembly and 100 in the Senate with a possibility for expansion by a further 100 in each House. The iconic NPB was constructed in response to the constrained chamber and office space at the Old Parliament Building in the central business district (CBD), whose maximum seating capacity was 120 and 80 for NationalAssembly and Senate respectively. Today, while touring the Harare CBD area, I observed that approximately 76% of shops and businesses are owned by Black people. Additionally, I noticed that locals don't buy gadgets on credit. It seems that the Black empowerment efforts by Zanu-PF made a positive impact on natives
