@metridiumfields @Zizaran Thats basically why i've not bothered with PoE in a few years. Nothings changed. I want to play a build because it looks fun, not because the build I did enjoy playing got dismantled. I want to know whats killing me. when I kill shit it shouldn't randomly yeet me from the grave.
@joshua_menke@EffortlessFury@VeNoMzShibe@patrickmaka Them not knowing how the matchmaking works doesn't mean it doesn't affect them. Its not a problem of getting bad teammates its a problem of always having them if you are too good.
@joshua_menke@EffortlessFury@VeNoMzShibe@patrickmaka But why wouldn't I want to be part of that smaller group? In a competitive multiplayer game I'd assume you would aspire to be better but it looks a lot like a punishment to me if I decide to take the time to do it.
@joshua_menke@EffortlessFury@VeNoMzShibe@patrickmaka Which is what worries me when I see people who are good constantly complaining about having an experience in social matchmaking they just do not enjoy. It simply makes me fear for the longevity of the game.
@joshua_menke@EffortlessFury@VeNoMzShibe@patrickmaka A bad dedicated player will tend to get better over time, so eventually they would be pushed into the role of a 60 instead of their previous 20 or 30. I don't believe a dedicated player will ever remain a bad player.
@joshua_menke@EffortlessFury@VeNoMzShibe@patrickmaka "Incorrect. You matchmake worse players with worse players and they get the same number of kill as better players matching with better players." and then you proceed to admit 60's and 20s are still playing in the same matches. and the bulk is happy at the cost of the dedicated.
@joshua_menke@EffortlessFury@VeNoMzShibe@patrickmaka That argument is a strawman at best. The matchmaking isn't good players vs good players and worse vs worse. You said it yourself 60 players and 20 players are in the same game. So I don't see how you can say im wrong on this.
@joshua_menke@EffortlessFury@VeNoMzShibe@patrickmaka The teams are unbalanced. They are unbalanced for better players. Why should the 60 player have to play their heart out every single game in order to have a chance at winning in a social playlist?
@joshua_menke@EffortlessFury@VeNoMzShibe@patrickmaka You disagreeing doesn't invalidate anything of what I said? Its a multiplayer shooting video game. A worse player is going to statistically die more than a better player. I don't know many people who enjoy losing or dying more.
@joshua_menke@EffortlessFury@VeNoMzShibe@patrickmaka Didn't you just tell me "And I have not found any data that supports "better players are more likely to return" Most players are not "better"" You said it yourself. a 60 player doesn't stop playing because of the fairness of the match. I wonder why?
@joshua_menke@EffortlessFury@VeNoMzShibe@patrickmaka But I don't want the matches to be chosen by a system that deems it "fair" I want true randomness. I want the opportunity to be challenged instead of being carried as a 20 and I want a better player to not have to carry in order to win.
@joshua_menke@EffortlessFury@VeNoMzShibe@patrickmaka But with the current amount of the playerbase in MCC the ends are what are effecting each other. back to your example. Why should a 60 player be teamed wih a 20 player? they are wildly different skill levels. How will a 20 player learn to be better if the 60 is just carrying?
@joshua_menke@EffortlessFury@VeNoMzShibe@patrickmaka A better player in a multiplayer shooting game is more likely to have a positive experience than a worse one. When deciding what game to play in any given day, why would a worse player decide "lets pick up x game that I got destroyed in yesterday when I can play x which I didnt"
@joshua_menke@EffortlessFury@VeNoMzShibe@patrickmaka you very well know its not just a matter of what loses you more players. Its a matter of the quality of the matchmaking experience for everyone. Better players are more likely to return so they are less likely to quit anyway and their experience is what is sacrificed for # of ppl
