@ReadleyMeso@BBCNews@BBCLookNorth@looknorthBBC@EmmaLewell@UKParliament Not just public buildings, there's an almost prohibitive price to get it removed from private homes. I totally understand the consequences, but for domestic renovations I think home owners will take the risk themselves.
Drove from Belfast to Kildare today. What's the obsession with only driving in lane 2 of 3 and thinking the speed limit is aspirational. Never broke the speed limit but felt i was racing ahead of traffic.
Pipe lagging can contain asbestos and is high-risk. It is often painted over or protected by an outer coating.
Work on asbestos lagging must be done by a HSE licensed contractor. Find out what to do if you find it:

I’ve long been obsessed with the North East Coast Exhibition, which was held on Newcastle Town Moor in 1929 (the year of the Wall Street Crash) to promote the heavy industries of the NE - and this footage of its pavilions being demolished the following year is amazing.
I’m recruiting! The last role to complete my 35-strong #EmergencyPreparedness team.
If you are based in the North of England or Scotland, like testing & exercising and can help a national emergency service strengthen their resilience, take a look ⬇️

A pipeline fire has cut crude oil flows to Libya’s Es Sider export terminal, the latest disruption to the nation’s oil sector, the incident occurred on Tuesday the 13th of August 2024.
The fire, which operator Waha Oil said was extinguished, reduced production at oilfields in the Sirte Basin and lowered flows through the pipeline to about 125,000 barrels per day from 271,000 barrels per day.
The incident occurred after the isolation, therefore making the next isolation around 40km away.
