@AnnastaciaMP It's already closed to Greater Sydney and that's enough. NSW is a large state and the cases are concentrated in Sydney and they are in lockdown. Just like how Brisbane cases shouldn't affect the whole of QLD.
@lachlansimpso15 @AnnastaciaMP Noone speeds in Queensland. I would like fines for those who drove 20km under the limit and are a major road hazard to highways.
@cbdbug @AnnastaciaMP @HSWharves It's now a slow zone for the scooters (automatic on Lime scooter with low max speed). I love walking around and being on wheels at times. Paths are pretty wide. Doesn't seem to require bike lanes, it's a nice relaxed shared area ?
@Venus4828@domsullivan18 @AnnastaciaMP Haha it's working? Working to me is not freaking the f out over single cases + locking up it's citizens. We were lied to that it was about flattening the curve but it's actually about eradication. And people talk about overseas travel, ha! Forget about it with this lot in control
@RobbieThornton @AnnastaciaMP Yes she did that to Brisbane and it was completely an overreaction to one case that didn't spread. These premiers are getting support from the dumb population who can't think for themselves about actual risk management. Wow, this is a comedy show!
@catiger1 @AnnastaciaMP Yes she said she had an economic plan for QLD but now wants federal help. Hahaha.... I live up here and I hate how she speaks like QLD is for itself. But you're right, she should at least be consistent!!
@DylangerDaly @AnnastaciaMP @Tesla Yes instead our government charges a "luxury car tax" on top of the original cost, making the price even more outrageous!
@AnnastaciaMP Yes I'm sure that you will "ask" us again... It was totally unnecessary to mandate masks when there was no community spread outside of the hotel worker and her partner! The whole thing is a joke. Outbreak, ha!
@Shamwark@hawawright360 @AnnastaciaMP @natalie_barr@qldhealthnews @10NewsFirstQLD Risk was greatest in April when Queensland had 1000 cases, and I wanted to wear a mask in hospital and was told no and laughed at by medical colleagues. Now Govt enforce over 1-2cases. Don't fool yourself that they're using science. It's fear and mask availability.
@Littleorinoco@LFCMatt97@ravinwije@qldhealthnews Common sense to me would be that wearing a mask alone in a car is unnecessary. Especially for health workers like myself who have worn them for 9 hours straight and would like a break from them in their own car. But apparently this isn't common.
@hawawright360 @AnnastaciaMP @natalie_barr@qldhealthnews @10NewsFirstQLD I'm glad you kept the screenshot to remember how they have changed their mind on masks with no change in evidence (masks are not a new item of PPE). I wanted to wear one in March working in a hospital and we were told no, but now we must wear one with 1 community case.... Ugh.
@LFCMatt97@ravinwije@qldhealthnews It's created confusion because now the legitimacy of the protection measures don't make sense! Compliance is lost when rules are ridiculous like this. I work in a hospital and you should regularly change and dispose of masks between procedures and changing rooms. Pathetic.
@monica_2978 It's embarrassing. I work in a hospital and this is not how masks are to be used! And the same government told by us masks don't work back in in March. Noone questions it.
@_SierraHotel @AnnastaciaMP Totally. Our threshold of reaction is getting smaller (1 case = panic). Who knows how long this will go for and what else they will impose.
@AnnastaciaMP At least you have given QLDers more time to return. This is what always needs to be considered for the people involved. People will do the right thing they just want to get home.
@xaxitabian1 @GladysMustGo@maxblackhole Agreed, the issue was they lied and crossed borders illegally. Getting COVID is innocent in itself but the false declarations were why they were ridiculed. Posts like this are laughable and predictable, people twisting the story.
@GladysMustGo@maxblackhole Completely inaccurate claim! The two QLD girls lied on their border cross declaration and came from the banned Melbourne hotspot across state borders. Getting COVID and spreading it is not a crime, but lying on your declaration is.
@SashasTweeting@unique_soul16 @AnnastaciaMP Aussies don't pay univeristy up front, they get a loan (HECS) which is paid back gradually if and when the person reaches a threshold. International students pay full price and high fees which allow our system to run.
@renae_nae9 @AnnastaciaMP It's not cheap. And it takes 2 weeks out of your life and for a lot of people, their ability to earn an income. Not to mention the mental impact. The rich could afford this but it's not an easy option for most.
We are spoiled in Australia that we freak out over small "outbreaks"
