This is what a shortage of 400,000 affordable homes across the country really looks like. I spent the arvo with this 4-yr-old who lives in a tent in a campsite on the Sth Coast with her 5-yr-old brother, and her parents (thread)
'Everybody in the community seems to want this to happen, but nobody seems to want it in their backyard.' Took a dive into housing policy after seeing fb posts about the housing crisis side-by-side with residents protesting residential developments.

@MarkusMannheim@chantelle_alkh does it dampen your fangirling to discover I have only just seen these tweets? In the market for a digital manager to run my life (help me)
I'm pretty sure when i joined the Canberra newsroom form regional Vic I thought a try was just someone trying their best. Brett was nothing but kind & patient in my two years in that office, and very graciously made sure I avoided sport reporting embarrassment. Thankyou @BMcSport

Eurobodalla Shire Council mayor @mathewhatcher is sending letters to non-resident ratepayers asking them to rent out their holiday homes to help with the huge housing shortage on the South Coast - looking at you Canberra and Sydney residents.

Two young men have been found not guilty of the murder of Canberra real estate agent Peter Keeley on the NSW South Coast in February 2020. The trial heard the boys, who were 17 at the time, had been in contact with Mr Keeley on the dating app Grindr.
