@VEverettmfl This is kind, thank you 😊
There were some wonderful people people too who will be friends for life and the students have been just amazing
So... I quit teaching... I quit education.
At the end of July I will refocus my hard work into running a business!
I sell beautiful house plants and planters and offer advice on plant care. I'm on Facebook and Instagram and have a website https://t.co/uUqjfXCeJZ
Follows welcome!
@Profe_Brown We don't have a choice, part of an academy so EoY assessments are planned and enforced centrally and sent to all schools in the group. This year they are not tiered, aimed at foundation. Tiering is absolute bollocks in my opinion.
How is it true that we have an education secretary who pronounces "the" as "vuh"? Not the only reason I can't bear to listen to him, but it's so distracting.
@VEverettmfl Is it a common pronunciation there? I've heard people from all over do the same, similar to a lazy "th" pronounced "f" resulting in "furteen" and then poor spelling.
The lowlight of the evening wasn’t the nul points, but Amanda Holden demonstrating perfectly why Europe thinks we’re an arrogant nation with a grossly overrated sense of our own importance, and why no one will ever vote for us. What a staggering misread of an audience that was.
I'm sure I'm very late to the party, but watching #allthatglitters on catch up. Could @Kathbum be any more bloody wonderful?! Telling a woman to think like a white man is something that should be on TV more. Everyone needs a friend like this. 💜
@Profe_Brown I wholeheartedly agree with your opinion here, you made some excellent points. I have trialled TPRS teaching with our two bottom set Y7 classes this year and have paired it with some very basic sign language. It's been incredibly successful for verbal production.
@cathsbruv I really recommend a book called "untangled". It helped me to reflect and gives fantastic perspective on teens in general (we've got 3) but especially girls.
Y11 have been reading sections of L'étranger for homework, followed by quizzes that we've designed to support their understanding of literature in French, and because it's superb! A couple of responses today made a real impact, their understanding is brilliant.
