This is horrific. The Board of Immigration Appeals, having been purged of all dissenters, rules that unaccompanied migrant CHILDREN who initially crossed the border unlawfully MUST be detained without bond, EVEN IF they have been granted Special Immigrant Juvenile Status.
A reminder for @DHSgov:
There is no statute of limitations for killing American citizens in cold blood.
Depraved indifference to human life is a serious crime punishable under federal law.
The American people know that ICE is a failure.
Since @USCIS mandated electronic payment of filing fees last fall, petitions and applications are being rejected daily for alleged payment issues. These 7 rejection packages alone cost USCIS $73.49 in postage to send back to our office.
How much money is being wasted nationwide re-mailing cases that should never have been rejected in the first place? And how much additional delay is this creating for applicants, employers, and the agency itself?
NEWS: Trump is methodically stripping immigrants — including many with legal status — of their ability to function in daily life, cutting them off from everything from jobs to day-care subsidies. The goal is to transform how welcoming the U.S. is to immigrants + their families.

DHS memo obtained by the Times shows the top lawyer of the agency assuring agents that they were “not legally required to comply with state and local mask prohibitions while carrying out their official duties.”

Kathleen Thomas was issued a citation in February after a Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputy pulled her over for allegedly using a phone with her right hand. But Thomas doesn't have a right hand. This week, the officer requested that the citation be dismissed.
Here's bodycam footage of the traffic stop.
Many of these people were in the United States for 30-40 years. Because Cuba didn’t take deportations for half a century, they were able to live here despite removal orders issued decades in the past. Then they were suddenly called in by ICE, handcuffed, and dumped in Mexico.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees are taking their own lives at a pace that’s unprecedented in the agency’s two-decade history, highlighting what experts call failures in care and oversight.

This should scandalize anyone who believes in DUE PROCESS. The Trump admin is rushing to suddenly reschedule huge numbers of immigration court hearings for immigrants, so they can order them deported when they miss a court hearing they never knew about.
On May 2, agents followed Leonardo Garcia Venegas back to his home because they didn’t believe his claims of citizenship or that the REAL ID he showed them was legitimate.
It was familiar territory: He’d already been detained twice.

HUGE. Kilmar Abrego Garcia will not face the inside of a prison cell.
It is extremely hard to win a vindictive prosecution motion, but here the evidence was so strong that the judge had almost no choice but to grant it.
They are STILL trying to deport him to Africa, though.
This claim is a LIE. Congress created adjustment of status in 1960. It's not a loophole. In fact, @USCIS's OWN WEBSITE says that getting a green card from inside the United States was expressly intended by Congress!
Just wait; give it 24 hours and they'll erase that history.
New: A new lawsuit alleges the Trump administration awarded the bulk of new Texas border wall contracts to two firms without “genuine competitive opportunities.” One of the chosen firms has faced legal issues and claims of shoddy construction work. https://t.co/tlUIvO5kMJ
NEWS — The Trump administration this week onboarded more than 80 new federal immigration judges, in its latest push to expedite deportation cases.
Most of the new immigration judges previously worked as ICE lawyers, prosecutors or in the military.

DACA recipients who have lived in this country for a minimum of 19 years and who grew here as children are losing their jobs and work protections not because THEY did anything wrong, but because the Trump admin has broken the legal immigration system so badly they're timing out.
New: Far more American children have likely been separated from their parents during immigration sweeps than previously understood, according to a new Brookings report that estimated more than 100,000 kids have had a parent detained under Trump. https://t.co/Lttg5WiEkL
