@edfischman@ThePoliticalHQ@NFLFrascella It matters because how do you define a legal vs illegal bobble. Where do you draw the line between a play like this or if he caught it in bounds, gets hit in process of completing the catch it pops up but while falling out of bounds it lands in his lap clean. Is that a catch now?
@NFLFrascella 3) and since he did not regain control in the field of play before landing out of bounds surviving the ground didn’t matter. If you want to debate what the rule should look like I agree this should of been a catch. But rule changes are for off season not week 17.
@NFLFrascella Your comments show you are speaking about what you think “should” be a catch not what rules are. Rule is always you need to survive the ground, you need to complete the process with control. Issue here is he temporarily lost control, regained it with his feet no longer in bounds
@NFLFrascella 2) say he survived the ground: if this catch is in the field of play it would count. If he regains control while still in bounds or toe tapping it would count. Issue is he lost control in the process of completing a catch. Did not reestablish control while in he field of play.
@DevilsDenReacts this explanation applies to McMann as well. He was bracing the crosscheck and lowers his arms with the stick coming down with less force than miller. It was called a match penalty (only reason he got suspended it’s in the rules) during a review for a a different play. That’s 1st
@KrashWagers The Stanly Cup is the greatest trophy in the history of sports. No other league compares. The route to winning it is unlike any other sport or playoff. No one competes like hockey players. People thought 4 nations was good well well are you in for a treat.
