Cyprian and Rousalie: the party's caster and anti-caster. Cyp's magic is inhibited by the enchanted collar he's forced to wear, with Rous wearing the master collar. This links them in battle; when one is affected by magic, so is the other (to a degree).

Devoveo the Battle Robo: a party member whose clockwork nature renders him immune to magic, and with his own set of consumables (e.g. repair kits). WRPG fans might think I stole the idea from KotOR, but JRPG fans know we all took it from Phantasy Star.

Work is finished on the new battle system for MagiCats! My theory has been fully implemented in the engine with custom plugins; all that remains is to punch in numbers while I test out the various kinds of enemies, consumables, armor/weapon combos etc.

It's been a while, but I've been working on the game's new battle system! I've also been doing research on JRPGs, finishing Mahou Gakuen Lunar and trying Volfoss and other obscurities I missed as a boy. Between, I cool my brain off with Ape Escape for PSX.

A funny bug when I was implementing parallax backgrounds: the carousel forest. It was a simple fix, but this effect will come in handy later for the clouds of Zephyropolis, the city in the sky.
