Christ is risen! Beautiful weather and a warm spirit marked the 6th Sunday of Pascha — also “Bay to Breakers” here in the City by the Bay despite traffic woes. Even after Fellowship “Hour” had passed, the community gathering continued with church school and much more!
Christ is risen! Our Reading Group for Women gathered together following a pause for Great Lent and Pascha. We read and were edified by the Life of our Righteous Mother Olga of Alaska. We meet to read, talk, and encourage one another once a month after a Wednesday vespers.
Our fifth annual blood drive is one for the books! This past Sunday afternoon 29 red blood cell units were collected. We also welcomed 7 first-time donors! Thank you for your support and willingness to participate in this life-saving endeavor!
Holy Anticipation! We celebrate the PASCHA of Christ - the feast of Our Lord's Resurrection (Easter) beginning tonight at 11:30 pm. We continue at midnight with Paschal Matins and the Divine Liturgy. Paschal Vespers Sunday at 1:00 pm. Christ is risen!
On the Feast of the Entrance of Our Lord into Jerusalem — Palm Sunday — we had the joy of receiving six of our brothers and sisters into the Holy Orthodox Church. Hosanna in the highest!
We celebrated the beautiful feast of the Annunciation of the Mother of God — the beginning of our salvation — on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings this week. Tonight we continue meditating on this mystery the once-a-year Akathistos Hymn to the Mother of God at 6:00 pm.
On the Fourth Sunday of Great Lent, we were blessed to have Fr. Michael Nasser stay and preach here at Holy Trinity Cathedral following the retreat he led for us on Saturday. We were also joined by Deacon John Dibs from our sister parish of St. Nicholas Antiochian Church.
“I will take you as My people and be your God. Then you shall know I am the Lord your God who brought you out from under the Egyptian tyranny” (Exodus 6:7). Our special monthly church school on the Book of Exodus, "A People Set Apart", continued this Second Sunday of Lent.

On Clean Friday, February 27, the eve of the commemoration of St. Theodore the Recruit and the Miracle of the Boiled Wheat, His Grace Bishop Vasily presided at the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts. At the conclusion of the liturgy, His Grace blessed the kolyva.

As we begin the 2nd day of saving abstinence, we cry to Thee, O Lord: Fill the hearts of us Thy servants with compunction, and accept our prayers offered to Thee in fear. Grant that we may successfully complete the course of the fast, and bestow upon us cleansing and great mercy.

We had a beautiful Cheesefare Sunday and our San Francisco weather added to the ambience! Some of us kept the celebration going by passing out espresso to neighbors and passersby all afternoon. We'll be back at 6:30 for Forgiveness Vespers and the beginning of our Lenten journey!
