The worldly often hurl reproach and contempt on God’s servants. The worldly see the conduct of God's children as folly or madness. But a believer’s defense is found in keeping God’s testimonies (always plural and always of His laws as divine testimonies).
"...being made free from sin, you became servants of righteousness." (Rom 6:18) Since righteousness is obeying God's Word, willingly serving God is perfect freedom, and being bound in sin (the lawless who ignore or disobey) is perfect slavery.
Revenge consists of retaliating against someone who has displeased you - by attempting to do him some harm. Don't do it. Purge the thoughts from your heart. It may be difficult, but as one believer said, "Being a Christian isn't for sissies". See Romans 12: 19-21

A slanderer is a tale bearer - someone who spreads malicious gossip aimed at stirring up dissent. Truth isn't a concern for this person. And if you've been a victim of a slanderer, you know how vicious & unfair the attacks can be. God's people should not slander.

Do you desire the God given qualities of perception, discernment, and insight? The key is in keeping God's Law. So, you now also know what if you don't keep God's Law you lack these qualities.
Why do we need a command not to defraud, wrong, exploit, or deceive our neighbor? Because that's what people do. God wants His people to be different, special. He wants us to be gracious and merciful to others even as He is with us.
