We now have our final classroom session to analyse our data 📈 and will be heading back to the college shortly.
Thank you to the wonderful staff at @FSCJuniperHall, especially our tutor Hannah, for such an amazing trip - we’re already looking forward to next year 🐭🐌🦋🌿🌾🪷🌳
The students have worked so hard this trip and been fantastic throughout, we thought it was only fair to treat them to an ice cream to celebrate completing our practical work🍦we also got to work to the top of Box Hill and appreciate the wonderful views!
Our final activity of the day was a walk up to the folly overlooking @FSCJuniperHall 🏰 en route, we discussed woodland management strategies, such as coppicing, and enjoyed the views 🌳
We had a very exciting start to Day 2 of our Biology Field trip … checking out our moth trap! 🦋 it was beautiful to see some of our moth species up close to be able to see and talk about their adaptations!
We then headed back to the classroom to analyse the data and perform a chi-squared test 📊 before heading out to the pond area to start our mark release recapture pond snail study 🐌
Our final activity of the day was to set up our moth trap! 🦋 The students are certainly being at one with nature and have enjoyed some down time in the FSC grounds this evening!
We’re all looking forward to Day 2 tomorrow!
We are excited to head back to @FSCJuniperHall for our Bio department’s favourite time of year… The A-Level Biology Field trip! 🌱
After a recap of Ecology, and a quick introduction to the field studies centre, we headed straight up to Mickleham Downs for our first practical!
Sending off our Year 13 students with a fond farewell in their final lessons this week! 🌟 In our traditional Biology Department style, each student got their own homegrown Holyport plant 🪴We’re so proud of you all and wishing you all the best for your bright futures!
