As spring approaches, keep an eye out for local spring craft and activity events in your local area, or organise your own with a few families. Home educating is a great way to follow the seasons and changes in the natural world, learning as you go.π₯πΊπ¦
@222lmc@DundeeCouncil@BlacknessPS@ChrisLawSNP@EducationScot Not only do you not need to "engage" with anyone at the LA, but the HT should not be informing them of your intending to home educate, as that would breach their obligations under GDPR and DPA to not process your child's data.
@222lmc@DundeeCouncil@BlacknessPS@ChrisLawSNP@EducationScot To be clear, between the last day of P7 and the first day of attendance of S1, a child is not currently attending a school. It is one of the named exemptions to the need for consent to withdraw in the Guidance.
Home Education Scotlandβs 2021 Annual General Meeting will take place on the Zoho platform at 7pm, 10th November. β¨β¨

"Child Protection" in the family home is completely different from "Safeguarding" in a professional setting.
Parents are criminalised and "professionals" are protected... That has GOT to change.
Protect children in ALL settings from abuse IN LAW
otherwise nothing will change!
How words change the meaning.
Our children are not only educated at home, there is so much to take part in within our network and a wide variety of #groups for different #interests. Getting a day at home can be challenging some weeks!
#Homeeducate' means we educate #everywhere
We're obsessive about finding the root cause of recurring problems here at HES, there is always a way to make things #better and #prevent a repeat. Thanks for the quote @CarronDouglas
Great to see all the events taking place to raise awareness of #DyslexiaAwarenessWeek. Because of school holidays, Dyslexia Awareness Week in Scotland is 1 - 7 November. #DAWScot21
We're grateful to our contacts at @WDCouncil & @SouthLanCouncil for also taking time to meet with us in recent weeks. These chats are so very important to us and we really look forward to positive follow up with you both! Little changes over time is huge for our families.
Very positive & constructive chat with Melanie @EduAberdeen this week. We hope this is the first of many future meetings that can bring increased understanding/better relationships for families in this area. Looking forward to working with you! @aberdeenshireEP@Aberdeenshire
Are you the teacher?
What do you teach?
Who tells you what to teach?
We don't 'teach' and #learning isn't categorised in lessons. We do however #facilitate ongoing learning in many ways. Each #family decides what is best for their own #child depending on how they learn best.
Its just gone 2pm and the lights are on (!) but there are no dull days in #homeed We're watching the very busy bird activity in the garden, whilst being #creative, after getting delightfully wet and muddy yesterday with #friends. π²πππβοΈπ¨οΈ
