- replacing an entire roof
- new flooring
- new hvac system
- building a new deck
- etc
These improvements raise your cost basis, and can lower capital gains tax when you sell your home
It’s fun sometimes to imagine it. My typical positions are anywhere from $1,000-$2,000. So say, for easy math, I did $1,500. With the same logic it’d be worth $135,000.
Not saying I could hold it all day, I’d likely cash out around $10K and be more than happy with it. But fun to think about.
