ABDUCTED. TORTURED. DUMPED. AND STILL - NO ACTION FROM THE POLICE.

Two student activists, Marlvin Saint and Lindon Zanga, have survived a terrifying ordeal after being abducted last night in Chinhoyi by unknown men driving an unmarked vehicle.

The pair, both members of the Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU), were reportedly seized near Mzimba Shops, brutally tortured, and later dumped in Bhutsu area, after Shamva. Their battered bodies were discovered by well-wishers, who rushed them to Chinhoyi Police Station seeking justice and protection.

But justice, it seems, is the one thing the police were unwilling to provide.
Officers accepted the victims, bruised, bleeding and traumatized only to refer them to the hospital, yet showed no urgency to investigate or pursue the abductors. No arrests. No questions. No accountability.

This silence from law enforcement has sparked national anger and fear. For many Zimbabweans, it reinforces a disturbing pattern: activists are attacked, and the police look the other way.

These are not isolated incidents. They are part of a growing culture of impunity, where those who dare to speak out, students, activists and ordinary citizens, are met with violence and intimidation, while authorities turn a blind eye.

The question haunting many tonight:
Are the abductors acting alone, or are they being protected from within the system meant to stop them?

Citizens and civil society have spoken out calling, immediate police action and an end to this state-sponsored terror that continues to endanger lives.
