Israel and Palestine: If Jewish people deserve a place in the land (which they do without a fucking doubt), then equally do Palestinians (which are also not JUST Muslim, but also other religions INCLUDING Jewish people). Jewish, Muslim, Christian and probably other religious…
@sulfurandante the T is stronger than E is terf rhetoric, full stop. it's made to make trans women discouraged from ever transitioning because it's "pointless and they'll always look like men" and trans men from transitioning because it'll "ruin their beautiful feminine bodies"
We don’t talk enough about how exclusion is traumatic. Either by intentional exclusion or just from the fact that they don’t bother enough to even think about you. Disabled people are excluded by default and I can’t tell you how traumatizing it is to have that be the norm.
I really need some of y'all to learn about disability outside of just the context of covid. Like learn about disability history or about disabilities that aren't your own or part of long covid. Covid is happening in a wider context and that context is important.
If anyone believes that feminism should not include queer men, especially trans men, then they're not trying to liberate from the oppression. They just want the oppression to not affect them specifically.
i wanna say this again now that i have more followers. i talk a lot about trans men, including how the trans community can be hostile toward us. with that said, i love trans women and fems dearly and i will always stick up for y'all. this is not a safe place for transmisogynists
@HoneyKraut@jacksfilms That one personally makes me the most sad because sometimes that’s the best or only way to make a point and it’s a lot harder to get around than the others
Trans men face as much if not more reproductive health barriers as cis women do while being completely forgotten by the majority of feminists, so I think they have the right to be angry for being blatantly ignored
I think some of you want trans men to be “just as misogynistic as any other men” because you want a group you have a pass to be transphobic + misogynistic to. One you can easily get away with by erasing people’s transness going “they’re just men they’re the oppressor it’s ok”
trans men are not "the oppressors of the trans community" just because you've had bad experiences with them, and know a number of transfems who have. Lateral bigotry is a problem on both sides but it's not the same as oppression and it doesn't mean trans men have it any easier.
Everyone wants to talk about making reasonable adjustments for disability but no one wants to talk about CHRONIC PAIN. It’s always absent from the discussion. There is no way to work with debilitating chronic pain and that’s what I think people are missing (on purpose).
@Coral1685029@shelbygraces https://t.co/6z4Nwow1Ec I use this. It google searches and automatically searches on the web page not the “all” page that includes ai. So no ai is used! Only thing I’ve found to actually work
don't tell trans ppl to not get the surgeries they need. support our access to care instead of insisting we live miserable lives in valid bodies with no surgeries that you think are scary.
I definitely remember several people referencing the 1918 Spanish Flu; and what we needed to do to prevent a repeat of history and rise of fascism. Since those warnings were from the LGBTQ community, the disabled community, and Black people, it was ignored and now here we are. 🤷🏽♀️
it’s because cis men are not the predominant targets of misogyny like women and trans men are. trans women’s experience of misogyny is directly tied to their womanhood thus when discussing their experiences, they emphasize their womanhood. whereas trans men’s experience +
its not an L take. everyone in the community is important no matter their "pragmatic purpose". its a nuanced subject but i definitely agree with your premise! being trans is not just about suffering but about a lot of joy too, and nondysphoric people have a lot of wisdom also
this is a good example of how population health cannot be secured individually
health cannot be a personal responsibility when the conditions for health do not exist
when you lack safe food, clean air, or clean water, individual choices cannot save you
