The Senate Committee on Lands, Environment and Natural Resources, chaired by Sen. @HonFaki , has imposed a KSh 500,000 fine each on Governor Gladys Wanga and Governor Ochilo Ayacko for failing to honour committee summons.

The Committee further directed the two Governors to appear on 12 March 2026 to provide a status update on the implementation of county projects funded under FLLoCA.

During the session, the Cabinet Secretary informed the Committee that the Ministry has resolved to formally withdraw the Regulations and republish them afresh. This decision follows concerns raised by the Committee and various stakeholders,

As Members of the Committee on Delegated Legislation, we held a productive engagement with Agriculture Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Mutahi Kagwe, regarding the Sugar (General) Regulations, 2025 and the Sugar (Imports and Exports) Regulations, 2025 published on 24th October 2025.
