EDUCATION RENEWAL: RESTORING HOPE, ONE CLASSROOM AT A TIME

The rehabilitation of the once-dilapidated Isa Williams Primary School is more than a construction project; it is a promise fulfilled to the children of Agege.

Every wall restored, every classroom renovated, and every improvement made reflects our belief that no child should have to learn in an environment that limits their dreams.

Watching this transformation from what was once a neglected facility to a school our pupils can be proud of is a powerful reminder that meaningful development changes lives.

INFRASTRUCTURE UPDATE: BUILDING THE ROADS OUR COMMUNITIES DESERVE

I met with residents, community leaders, party stakeholders, and youth representatives from Ward A and Ward D to share an important update on the next phase of infrastructure development in Agege.

For many years, several of these roads have posed daily challenges to residents, motorists, businesses, and families. Today, we are moving from plans to action.

As part of our commitment to improving connectivity and quality of life, construction is set to commence on key roads including OMODEHINDE Street, YEKINI OLUGOKE Street, ALHAJI ABEJE Street, TIJANI Street, TALABI Street, OTUN Street, AFOLABI LAWAL Street, and ADEGBITE Street.

These projects form part of our broader target of delivering 28 strategic roads across Agege before the end of the year, while also expanding access to essential services, including the commencement of operations at the Ward D Primary Health Centre.

Development is most meaningful when the people are carried along. That is why I remain committed to engaging residents directly, listening to concerns, and ensuring that every project reflects the needs of our communities.

I thank every resident, community leader, CDA member, youth group, and party faithful for their continued support, patience, and belief in our shared vision.

On the ongoing concerns surrounding the condition of key roads within our community, including the Okekoto/Alfa Nla axis, Akilo Road, and Agege Motor Road leading to Ilezik.

I fully understand the discomfort and challenges these road conditions have caused residents, motorists, and businesses. As an administration, we are not ignoring these concerns. We are actively engaging and collaborating with relevant state government agencies to ensure that lasting and sustainable solutions are achieved, particularly in addressing the drainage challenges affecting these roads.

While immediate interventions are ongoing in some areas, we remain committed to ensuring that permanent rehabilitation works are carried out for the benefit of everyone who lives and works in Agege.

I sincerely appreciate the patience, understanding, and support of our residents as we continue to work tirelessly towards a safer, more accessible, and better connected Agege.

New Agege is rising

Reconstruction efforts have commenced along the Old Lagos-Abeokuta Motor Road, with Agege Local Government currently handling the drainage intervention to address flooding and improve water flow within the corridor.

In partnership with the Lagos State Public Works Corporation, discussions and engagements are also ongoing towards the rehabilitation of the road itself to improve accessibility, ease traffic movement, and provide lasting relief for residents and motorists who use the route daily.
