I learn with great sadness the passing of Lt. Gen. I. Attahiru, the Chief of Army Staff and members of his entourage. A National Tragedy deeply depressing and painful to their families and entire Nigerians. May the Almighty forgive their shortcomings and grant them eternal peace.

The Nigerian Army regrets to announce the passing away of its Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru. The sad event occurred following an air crash in Kaduna which also claimed the lives of 10 other officers including the crew.
