Today, I chaired the Ministry's Senior Leadership Meeting to review progress on our strategic priorities, advance the midterm review of the Ministry's Five-Year Strategic Plan, strengthen resource mobilization and development partnerships, and reinforce internal coordination to deliver better results for the Somali people.

Effective leadership, accountability, and teamwork remain central to implementing the National Transformation Plan (2025–2029).

I co-chaired the Somalia Joint Fund (SJF) Management Group Meeting with UN Deputy SRSG, Resident & Humanitarian Coordinator George Conway.

We reviewed the Fund’s progress, agreed priorities for 2026–27 and reaffirmed the importance of aligning development financing with Somalia’s #NTP2025_2029 to deliver lasting results for our people.

I expressed Somalia’s appreciation for the United States’ longstanding humanitarian and development partnership and underscored the need for sustained support to strengthen food security, climate resilience and resilience-building while advancing #NTP2025_2029. In #Rome, I am engaging with development partners, donor representatives, and international organizations to mobilize support for the implementation of Somalia’s National Transformation Plan (#NTP2025_2029) amid growing pressures on global development and humanitarian financing.

I also met with Carla Barroso Carneiro, President of the @WFP Executive Board, to discuss strengthening Somalia–WFP cooperation and aligning support with our national priorities.

As I participate in the @WFP Executive Board Annual Session, I reaffirm Somalia’s commitment to national ownership, stronger institutions, and maximizing the impact of development investments to advance food security, resilience, and sustainable livelihoods.

Today, I welcomed the President of the North Eastern State of Somalia, H.E. Abdulkadir Ahmed Aw-Ali Firdhiye, and his delegation to @MoPIED_Somalia.

Our discussions focused on strengthening intergovernmental development cooperation, advancing the implementation of Somalia’s #NTP2025_2029, and accelerating priority development projects that directly benefit communities across the North Eastern State.

The delegation also toured the Barwaaqo Project and various Ministry departments, where they received briefings on ongoing resilience, water, environmental restoration, and institutional development initiatives.

I appreciate President Firdhiye and his delegation for their visit and reaffirm our commitment to strengthening coordinated and inclusive development efforts across Somalia.

I was pleased today to meet with Ambassador @ItalyinSomalia, H.E. Pier Mario Daccò Coppi, and his delegation to discuss strengthening Somalia–Italy cooperation.

Our discussions focused on aligning Italy’s support with Somalia’s #NTP2025_2029, strengthening coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of development programs, and expanding investment cooperation to encourage Italian companies to explore Somalia’s growing investment opportunities.

Somalia remains committed to strengthening strategic partnerships that advance sustainable development, economic growth, and investment.
