Let’s get some questions out-of-the-way. I love the decision not to appeal the #nfa court ruling and it’s a great step to restore the Second Amendment.

People need to remember that we do not know how state and local law-enforcement will act. Make sure that you have strong documentation for the fact that you are part of the plaintiff group in the lawsuit. And better to be safe than sorry, if you were outside, one of the 15 states that are part of the lawsuit, it would also be advised to also purchase from an FFL who is a member of the plaintiff group: if they are arguably, committing some sort of crime or regulatory in fraction by transferring to you the last thing you will want is to have your item seized as evidence, even if it’s against the store and not you.

Make sure that all of your documentation that you are part of the protected group is thoroughly documented both now and for the future and put that someplace safe. And the event that this decision does get rolled back next year or next decade, you may find yourself sitting on at worst probable cause for a felony and at best a really cool piece of freedom history. The difference between those two could be the documentation. Take it seriously.

Also keep in mind that different states and local jurisdictions may have separate laws that could still be in place even if you are exempted under the lawsuit from federal hurdles. The safest thing to do is to speak with a knowledgeable attorney who is familiar with the laws that apply to you where you are.

If you can safely hit all those goal posts, emphasis on getting approval from a qualified, competent attorney, knowledgeable in your laws where you are, then be sure to post it up and show me what freedom looks like!

If you prefer to sit back and not risk prison to see where this goes over the next few months because you do not live in a free state or trust the ATF, I completely understand that. #2ndamendment

Starting tomorrow, August 13 at 12:01 AM, silencers and AOWs gotten through Silencer Shop can transfer with no Form 4, no federal registration, and no wait.

What you need to know:

Applies in the 27 states with no state-level NFA laws. 15 states still require a Form 4.
The silencer must come from Silencer Shop or a Powered By Silencer Shop dealer.
SBRs and SBSs are not included. The 1968 Gun Control Act still requires ATF approval, so a Form 4 is still required. The tax is gone, but the paperwork isn’t.

The government can still appeal, so we'll keep you posted if anything changes.
