Quick basketball/coaching tip:
Don’t let people make you think you don’t know anything because they have the current lingo. Basketball isn’t truly changing as rapidly as people try to make you think. They’re just changing the terminology.
It’s all the same.
🏀 Going through Social Media today… the other side of the world woke up to seeing one of the best players in their country having signed with Texas Tech!
‼️ These are the stories I love seeing!
🗣️ Martina, you have made your country very proud today and the journey is just starting!
🤝 Everyone knows I love Lubbock, Texas Tech and @LadyRaiderWBB!
🏀 It’s a dream to Coach High-Major College Basketball! It was a no-brainer to continue to serve our program as our new General Manager along with my continued coaching responsibilities!
🙏 Thankful for @CoachGerlich for the continued opportunities to grow, learn and elevate within this program!
@_iBlewDat_ Factual and in a world where Oden actually does that, there is no major shift in the game for big wings like KD. Which eventually gives you Paul George, Flagg, and many others.
@_iBlewDat_ You know somebody don’t mention because it “sounds crazy”?
Greg oden actually was the goods. People just act like he was trash because “how could you draft him over KD”
Of the hundreds of thousands of shots I’ve taken in my life practicing, nothing ever gave me supreme confidence in my game like knowing I was in elite shape.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Your city/state isn’t a hotbed if you don’t have a COMMUNITY. Individual training kills the chance of hotbeds being created.
You have to have kids that want to play.
Coaches who want to coach.
And gyms that remain open for it
@TripleDoubleXO Because basketball today is about individual training and not communal playing. No great player historically speaking has ever gotten to that point by individual training. It’s the same reason why certain hotbeds of basketball exist. The more kids that play, the better they get
Skill development and culture I think was about 80% of the game back in the day. Because there was certain things basketball players naturally knew and understood.
In the last 7 years now I’d say X’s and O’s is now the new 80%
@TripleDoubleXO Yes a lot of fundamentals before you can be meticulous. Which is sad because how did we become so “evolved” to where we don’t know to screen away or cut if you don’t have the ball?
I guess the same way of how were the “smartest humans ever” because we have an iPhone 🤷🏾♂️
