I love how Alan Moore ends his comic career with The Tempest.. which is just as equally a love letter to comics while also being a big old middle finger at the comic business.
Reading Providence by Alan Moore
I wasn't completely sold on his first two Lovecraft comics but this is a horror epic that explores the universe of those stories in such a fascinating way.
Moore's last few comics (also thinking of The Tempest) are some of his best work
My sight and sound list:
The Apartment
Danger: Diabolik
Paris, Texas
My Neighbor Totoro
Prince of Darkness
The Red Shoes
Seven Samurai
The Shining
