@NukeAltmeyeIL@ESPNLunardi Illinoisโ SOS is better (especially non-con SOS), but Houston only having 3 losses compared to Illinoisโ 5 makes a huge difference in the SOR
Hypothetical game @801bracketology and I played today on our live show.
Rank these 5 teams based on your confidence that they could pull an upset.
South Florida, Belmont, Liberty, Yale & SFA
@NukeAltmeyeIL@ESPNLunardi The committee only uses 3 predictives and Houston is better in 2/3 (torvik and bpi). So only way Illinois is ahead of Houston is if their resume metrics were better, but Houston still sweeps that battle in all 3 (KPI, SOR, WAB). I do think the gap is closer than most think though
@ncspacedog@ESPNLunardi If I had any say in it, I agree with you 100%. But at the end of the day bracketology is just predicting what the committee will do based on the metrics they use
@NukeAltmeyeIL@ESPNLunardi I also have Houston as the last 1. By far the best resume metrics and predictive metrics of that group vying for the last 1 spot
@ncspacedog@ESPNLunardi I think the last thing any bracketologist wants to do is put them in, but unfortunately the numbers speak for themselves. Their SOS is just incredible. Very similar resume to 2022 Michigan who snuck in as an 11 seed
College basketball needs to let players play with 5 fouls. Thereโs way too much variance in how fouls are called to be making good players sit out at the end of games.
3 rules to live by:
1. Never acknowledge The Godfather: Part III.
2. Never waste calories on pizza outside of the Eastern Time Zone.
3. ALWAYS foul up three late.
Is it finally time to start looking at this Kentucky team as a National title favorite?
Breaking down the Wildcats win over Louisville!
