In modern politics you aren’t allowed to think for yourself. You’re either all on the team or a traitor. Even though independence is what people crave. We discussed on today’s show. https://t.co/tZv3dFquYd
I’ve been registered in 3 different parties. Now, I’m an Independent— and it feels great. Freedom to assess candidates and policies without the peer pressure to adhere to partisan dogma and personality cults. Freedom to laud the work of Ds & Rs, and to call them out on hypocrisy.
In 2008, I voted for Obama. In 2012, I voted for Romney. In 2016, I didn’t vote because I became disillusioned with politics. In 2020, I voted for a small third party candidate. In 2024, I again voted for a third party candidate.
@AndrewIrelandIN I see. So you’re harming the poor because our own government can’t or won’t fix the roads? Also, there are people here from all over the world. Saying that you will “make Mexico pay for it” betrays either ignorance or racism.
@LizBrownUS Winning by 15 votes WITH Trump’s endorsement is still a strong indictment. This statement is the same as your legislative work: entirely about yourself, nothing about pledging to do what Hoosiers actually want.
The irony in this statement is unbelievable. It was the State Senators who listened to their constituents rather than go along with a populist agenda that you just ousted. Now all we’re getting are elected officials who care more about appeasing Trump than those who elected them.
.@SenatorBanks on Trump-backed challenger wins:
“Everyone in Indiana politics should have learned an important lesson today: President Trump is the single most popular Republican among Hoosier voters. Indiana is a conservative state, and we deserve conservatives in our State Senate who have a pulse on Republican voters.
“It was an honor to be entrusted by President Trump with the important political work of electing conservative Republicans who support his agenda, and I’m proud to say that we delivered. I look forward to fighting for an America First agenda in Indiana alongside the many newly elected conservative State Senators.
“Now, we can turn our attention to the hard work of the general election, and putting as many Republicans in office across the state as possible.”
@FOX59 | @CBS4Indy
@SenatorBanks Indeed. But we also have to think about the home country to which people with TPS would return to. We have to figure out how to temper law with compassion. It’s not the fault of immigrants that it takes years to get a green card. It’s our broken system which no party has resolved
It takes courage to run for office. Putting yourself under public scrutiny isn’t easy. Speaking about issues isn’t easy — especially when one’s views go against the grain. Holding your tongue when you’re being mocked online isn’t easy. To all candidates — Rs & Ds — I commend you.
@RobMKendall My hope, and this may be naive, is that after these primaries are over candidates will actually talk about issues that matter: property taxes, gas taxes, wages, utility rates, education (in other words, issues that affect the daily lives of people).
Republicans and Democrats await the results of tomorrow’s primary elections to see what the future may hold for the possibility of another redistricting effort. Meanwhile, us average folks are concerned about getting by. Gas prices, property taxes, wages, schools…
Tomorrow is Primary Election Day in Indiana. More than who wins, I am curious to see what the voter turnout will be. Primaries typically have low turnout. We will see if this year is any different. #elections#indiana#politics#vote
@MicahBeckwith Respectfully, @MicahBeckwith , you’ve been in office for 2 years and nothing has been done about it. Please work on this issue. Thank you.
