Quick Update: We made kind of a KickStarter to collect money to launch the game on #Steam and it worked! We were very happy with the results and will be launching the game soon!! #gamedev#indiegame
Hey guys, we are very sorry we have been missing lately here on Twitter, we were very busy with all the work of the end of college semester. But hey, we all pass and now we are free to finally launch the game!!
The art team is actually remaking the art of the game, now that we have more time, while our programmer already fixed some bugs and improved the physics of the game.
Now on the actual version the physics help the player feel that have more control over the bunny, the movements are faster and the playability is more fluid and agile:
We've prepared some comparison gifs for you guys: This is the old version, the physics before were very floaty, and for that to work on the level design the jump nedded to be really high.
When it's finally Friday and you think you're going to take some time to sleep and suddenly remember everything you need to do for college, for the course and your personal projects until monday ...
Poor programmer... Spent two days reviewing codes looking for the solution of a simple problem that was actually caused by the Sprite Mask, may his patient soul be blessed.
If you don't believe the game is a challenge for you, take a sneak peak on some levels we created for the prototype, and you will understand how the game that was inspired by Super Meat Boy was already called "The Dark Souls of 2D platformers games" :
We focus so much on the levels progression and level design to acomplish a good number of levels that the player would learn how the mechanics works and create different forms to pass the challenges along with the game design.
While making the game on the Game Jam only our programmer and one experient game tester were the only ones that could finish the game, after fixing some bugs and delivering the game we got the best score in User Experience over the others 25 games competing.
If you still don't know what Hopscotch is you don't know what you're missing yet. The game is a very challenging 2D platformer made by a team of 3 artists and 1 programer, which received such great feedbacks that we couldn't stop working on it.
So... Twitter sugests the very first post to be "Just setting up my Twitter", when actually as a game development we're "Just setting up our game". The prototype is already available for playing on: https://t.co/NCOXaPit9P You can help us giving your feedback!!
