Today, we will be rounding off 6weeks practical training on waste to furniture vocational #skills for 100 graduates in Lagos, sponsored by @USinNigeria
We're proud of these new changemakers & we are optimistic about the impact they will have on Nigeria's #economy & environment.
African mothers mastered reuse long before it had a name. Every bottle kept, every item repurposed, this is the original circular economy. Happy Mother’s Day to the women who turned necessity into sustainability

Solar isn't the future. It's the present we keep delaying. Every panel in the ground is a choice, to stop extracting and start regenerating. That's the circular economy in action. The grid doesn't have to be dirty. The decision to change it is political, not technical. #Solar
Earth Day reminds us: protect our planet now 🌍
Watch Ocean Heroes Battle Against Marine Debris and learn how recycling and teamwork can save our oceans.
Be part of the change. Watch, share, act.

Buying what you don’t need is where most waste begins, especially in #fashion, where unused clothes quickly become silent waste. In a circular economy, the most powerful #sustainability choice is simply not overconsuming in the first place.

Monarch populations have dropped 90% in 30 years.
Not from age. Not from predators. From a planet that's too warm, too early, too often.
Climate change doesn't announce itself. It just quietly empties the sky.
What is deforestation, and why should you care?
Forests are disappearing fast, driving climate change, habitat loss, & environmental damage. Learn the causes, impacts, and simple ways you can help protect our planet🌍

Nature runs a zero-waste system. Every dead leaf, every broken branch — recycled. Humans are the only ones who invented the concept of trash. That's not a nature problem. That's a design problem. #CircularEconomy
The smartest building material we've been ignoring? Trees. Green-covered buildings absorb up to 40% of urban heat, filter stormwater, and cut cooling costs — without a single new technology. We don't need to invent our way out. We need to grow our way through. #CircularCity
91% of plastic bags are never recycled. They don't disappear, they just become someone else's problem, somewhere else on the planet.
Waste isn't inevitable. It's what happens when we design things with no plan for what comes next.
Design like the end matters. #CircularEconomy
What if plastic flowed like water?
Because in reality, it already does, into our oceans, soil, food systems, and lives.
The flood isn’t coming.
It’s already here.
Reduce. Reuse. Rethink.

The fashion industry produces 92 million tonnes of textile waste every year. That's a garbage truck full of clothes dumped every second. The outfit you bought on sale and wore twice is somewhere in this photo. Wear less. Choose better. Demand circular. #CircularEconomy
Every system in nature runs on zero waste. A leaf falls, becomes soil, feeds roots, becomes a leaf again. We built an entire economy doing the opposite, and called it progress. What if we just paid attention? #CircularEconomy
The fashion industry dumps 92 million tonnes of textile waste every single year. That's a garbage truck of clothes every second. Fast fashion isn't a trend. It's a waste system with a marketing budget. #CircularEconomy
The world doesn't have a waste problem. It has a design problem. Every bottle, bag, and broken appliance was made by someone who never had to think about where it goes next. That's the real issue.
When we start designing for end-of-life from day one, waste stops being a category
Cities produce 68% of global waste, but they're also where the circular economy has to win.
Redesign the systems.
Close the loop.
What's your city doing about it? 👇
Recycling is one of the least efficient things we do in the name of sustainability.
Not because it's useless, but because we use it as a substitute for designing things that don't need recycling in the first place.
Recycling is the last resort. We made it the first response.
See what 7 years ago looked like.
At the State House in Washington D.C., @Hopcyku was featured during a luncheon, a moment that still inspires us today.
Special thanks to Teresa Williams, for capturing this moment. We're grateful for the opportunity through @TechWomen#Hopcyku
Climate change once felt like a distant threat, now, it’s knocking on our doors. Floods, heatwaves, droughts, food shortages, the signs are all around us.
We all have a role to play, & it begins with taking responsibility for our daily choices.
