@SocialistMMA It's not that Tucker should be banned.
It's that corporate news should be banned and all corporate advertising funding news.
Take out the incentive to lie for the benefit of elites and/or revenue, and then we'd get honest takes which of course should be free speech.
@LI_politic_guy 2 - though I'm sort of replacing the word God with this being a creation. Difference is "God" implies some sort of knowledge about what did the creation. Nobody should have a clue what did the creation or for certain to what purpose.
@GoodPoliticGuy In a just society all affordable housing would actually be affordable and owned by those who live in them and corporate ownership of housing would be banned.
@sallyhunt666 Agree to disagree - but building coalitions with those who focus on social democracy changes like universal healthcare even if they won't touch corporate ownership structures to me is still the right move. The issue is when those "progressives" are to the right of Bernie.
My condolences to all Twitter employees.
In a better economic system, you'd have control of the company - it's direction, it's profitability, and be able to elect your own CEO. Instead, we get clueless profit greedy tyrants who care F all about people.
We all need unions.
Freedom of speech is for ideas - opinions of belief, ideology. This I believe in protection for, not the ability to spread in mass misinformation by who should be a responsible informed leaders.
The rich with platforms should be held to a higher burden of truth.
@krystalball There’s a reason they shut her out of important roles in congress - she’s too good at pointing out the corruption and that’s not what either party really wants
@JenniePsyd Fascism will grow when people are pushed by economic circumstances to have something to resent. Social programs that present real life solutions is the way to take away the power from those movements.
The only way to really understand politics is through the lens of socialism. Most of everything the average person knows of politics is the theatrics of the rich and powerful as distraction.
@JenniePsyd Majority - even by 1 is control and under Obama it was a larger margin.
Trump quickly used the bully pulpit to drum out Republicans that don’t fall in line with his agenda. And it worked. Why didn’t Biden do the same with Manchin or Sinema?
@JenniePsyd With every other developer country providing full healthcare, ACA wasn’t an accomplishment. It was a conservative stopgap to prevent something better. It also came while democrats had full control.
@JenniePsyd And if you are anti-war it’s crazy to think you have an ally with either party. Our military budget has continued to balloon. Biden may have ended one endless war, but has found us another to be mired in.
@JenniePsyd The Democratic Party under Roosevelt was absolutely a functional democratic socialist left party.
And it’s never returned. Obama and Clinton were conservatives. Biden on paper supported some good programs but did little to truly shift the party off the liberal conservative line.
@JenniePsyd And to be clear - I'll vote for harm reduction by voting against Republicans. I don't call that democracy though. It's the rich running the show whether we curve left or right. Two party systems never work.
@JenniePsyd Material - as in kitchen table - as in not dishing out tons of money into the military industrial complex and instead focused on tangible improvements for average Americans.
