Big thanks to @titonka for being real about the complex excitement of preparing to have a child.
Almost a year into motherhood, I still feel a lot of this.
I said “Ben, who loves you the most?”
This little punk (who can only say one thing and doesn’t assign meaning to it) said “Dad.”
I really set myself up for disappointment there.
@jnswanson Some “early adopter” you are. (But seriously, thank you for demonstrating the good this place can do and teaching me that sometimes strangers on the internet are, in fact, people you can safely meet for coffee in Stratford-upon-Avon.)
I mean, if this silly app/website/agora of this millennium is going down, here’s a cute picture of my child eating pasta off his high chair because he could not be bothered to use his hands to send us off.
I just remembered the time in the early 2000s when a cop pulled into our driveway behind my mom because someone called them thinking we were casing the neighborhood.
We were driving slowly to look at Christmas lights and it was probably 7pm.
Ben really focuses on Chewie and @MarkHamill on this pillow. I assume it’s because their respective facial hair reminds him of our cats and of Dada.
But maybe he can just tell that they’re cool.
