@momfessions This is very true! Especially as testing moves towards online reading. There are also so many other technologies students can use to read books and they needs the skills to effectively read them. I know I have recently moved to reading more e-books and it is a change even for me!
@melissa49141016 I agree students need to have the capacity to effectively communicate with their peers. Elementary students often times do not have good communication skills or know how to effectively have discussions with their peers. As teachers we need to incorporate these skills daily.

With so many new technologies it brings in new communication practices and new literacies emerge. I never imagined 3rd graders blogging or using google classroom but now it is a reality for classroom interaction. #READ6265-2019
