Common themes in way too many churches.
1) Resistance to conversations about hard things.
2) Impatience with group leadership processes.
3) Anemic gospel engagement for life.
4) Minimal hospitality beyond the church building.
5) Demonizing others with whom we disagree.
Anonymous letters should be ignored, torn up, and thrown in the trash. It is cowardly, immature and inconsistent with the teachings and spirit of Christ.
Beware! Any time there is a vacuum in leadership often the most unhealthy people "volunteer" to lead. Or worse, just start leading. 99% of the time it is a disaster.

The images for ministry in the pastorals (1 & 2 Tim, Titus) are far from easy and passive. "Fight the good fight," "Guard what is entrusted to you," "toil and struggle," "Farmer, Solider, Athlete"--all related to the gospel task and life. Now is the time!
If we only what religion to give us an experience and not instruction we will be tossed to and fro by the winds of life and torn apart in our soul. Loving God with our mind has to be part of the equation too.
