My sincere thanks to the Berner Zeitung for this thoughtful portrait. Looking forward to welcoming everyone to Gstaad next week. The focus, as always, remains on the music, the artists and the audience.

Mrs Brown claims Beethoven dictated new music to her from beyond the grave.
The BBC makes a serious documentary.
Beethoven corrects her mistakes.
And people say classical music has an image problem.

@HopeViolin it was a wonderful concert yesterday evening! Thanks to you all for a truly great evening in Esens or the back of beyond as it felt getting there 😁
@HopeViolin Dear Daniel Hope, THANK YOU SO MUCH for this wonderful concert in Bonn tonight! it was one of the most exciting, emotional concerts I've ever been to - ecceptional selection of musical pieces performed with such love and accuracy. I loved it - and come back tomorrow!
@HopeViolin What a sensational concert in Bern! A passionate and lively journey through Irish Music’s history with a talented ensemble whose enthusiasm and joy in playing music together cast a spell on the audience. The standing ovations were well deserved. Bravi!👊🎻🍀❤️

Excited to head out on a major German tour again this February together with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra. At the heart of the tour is our passionate, highly virtuosic programme “Mozart: Passion” – featuring Haydn’s incomparable “La Passione” Symphony alongside works by Mozart and Chevalier de Bologne.
At the same time, we’re looking forward to two very special evenings: on 12 February in Freiburg and 13 February in Mannheim, we’ll be bringing our programme “America!” to the stage, with music by Gershwin, Bernstein, Kurt Weill and Florence Price.
Returning to familiar places is always special – as are the encounters with our wonderful audiences.
See you on the road!

Experiencing Jacob Collier alone on stage tonight at Schloss Elmau was very special. The sheer magnitude of his harmonic imagination, the freedom with which he glides between worlds and instruments, and perhaps most strikingly, his completely natural rapport with the audience felt less like a performance and more like a shared act of discovery. Nothing forced or calculated — just curiosity, joy, and an open invitation to listen differently. Pure music. @SchlossElmau1@jacobcollier
Wishing you all a very happy New Year.
In a world with plenty of challenges, may 2026 bring moments of peace, connection and empathy. And lot’s of music…
