After stopping antidepressants, this 23-year-old said she experienced a “chemical castration." What to know about PSSD, according to experts. https://t.co/jfG3KoxoMq
@angryhacademic@masksaregood@AlanLevinovitz Michael Donnino (who is running the randomized LC study) had his pain cured permanently this way. Unfortunately only people who experience this believe it. I wish it was easier to explain
@Lizzardo77 yeah an ID doctor that recovered from LC decided to turn into a virtual sexual harasser. Very believable. You don’t believe you have the power to change your brain but you believe this c*ap (referring to the allegations)
@Bettje37@NeleHelena “us” is also me. I recovered this way. My story matters. I lost 2 years of my life because all of the hate on X towards mind-body medicine. Give me back these years
@angryhacademic@masksaregood@AlanLevinovitz They educated the patients on how the pain was a stuck nerve circuit in the brain, they taught them how to react to the symptoms (breathing, love, tracking, visualization) and also helped them with emotional expressive writing. Pain gone. Permanently. In majority of pts. No drugs
@angryhacademic@masksaregood@AlanLevinovitz in both randomized studies I gave you the chronic back pain of people disappeared in a large percentage. That's not just helpful. That's a cure
@angryhacademic@masksaregood@AlanLevinovitz I think the reason we cannot agree is that you cannot accept the remote possibility that the subconscious brain can actually drive real disease. I didn't believe it either until my extremely severe ME/CFS disappeared. Anyhow it was great talking to you
@NeleHelena sorry you had this experience but this is simply not true for mind-body medicine as a whole. Also I know several people that took a couple of times for it to work eventually for them. It is not an easy game trying to convince your subconscious brain to cease being on alert mode
@simonmaechling sadly experts are often wrong. It has happened to every one of us: we trusted a professional only for them to screw up. Doubt and debate is healthy as long as both sides can engage
Sen. Murphy to Mullin: "Will you or will you not implement court orders?"
Mullin: "If we didn't think courts were politicized, then I would probably be able to answer that. But we see courts over and over again that use their bench for their political opinion, not just the rule of law."
Murphy: "...If you're a Republic or a Democrat on this committee, you should be really, really freaked out."
@angryhacademic@masksaregood@AlanLevinovitz Sure here is the literature (mostly on chronic pain for the time being, soon randomized on LC, same therapy)
