Jayson Tatum suffered his Achilles tear on May 13, 2025.
He had surgery less than 24 hours from when he suffered the injury, which is unheard of, but could prove to be invaluable.
Dr. Martin O’Malley performed the surgery and he was the only physician on a newly released cutting edge paper regarding Achilles rehabilitation.
If we look at the ‘Return to Sport’ in this paper, it lists 24+ weeks, assuming he hits all of his benchmarks of recovery (isokinetic/isometric strength >90% LSI)
That would put the date as October 28, 2025.
Assuming no setbacks I think November/December is possible, but January is probably more realistic.
The future of Achilles reconstructions and returns in (elite) athletes is here!!!

@KeithSmithNBA It feels like the Knicks aren't taken seriously. Celtics dominate much of the game, settle for the lead they have, start playing iso, start missing shots, and the Knicks take advantage of that. It seems more psychological. Celtics deserve both losses do to the lack of commitment
@Marc_DAmico It's absurd that this happens to you twice vs the same team. You should not let your players miss 14 straight shots, maybe in the 7 straight miss you should change the strategy. Last 5 minutes of the game you didn't see a single play making. They deserve this losses
