And later, this will be presented to Putin as a successful Russian operation.
🇺🇦❌ The Verkhovna Rada has excluded the Russian language from the text of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages
At the same time, the Charter's effect is preserved for all languages to which it previously applied, and is also extended to 8 languages.
This means that the Russian language no longer has legal protection in Ukraine.

The “Iryna Law” adopted in the U.S. — in memory of a murdered Ukrainian woman
North Carolina has passed the so-called Iryna Law, named after Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska, who was killed in a subway attack by a repeat offender suffering from mental illness.
The bill, signed by Governor Josh Stein, bans cashless bail for a range of violent crimes and for most repeat offenders. It also requires psychological evaluations for defendants before they can be released on bail.
The law received bipartisan support from both Democrats and Republicans. Lawmakers say it is meant to protect the public from individuals who pose a “heightened risk of violence.”

Hey, @nytcooking, medovyk isn’t Russian — it is a dish first mentioned in a 1957 cookbook published in Kyiv, Ukraine. Similar desserts can be found in the Czech, Lithuanian and Polish cuisines. (Unless, of course, you tend to add a sprinkling of war crimes to your recipe.)
I just want to say that for anyone who is struggling with grief please don’t be impatient with yourself if you are still upset a year after the loss. I keep thinking I should be ok by now but I’m still a basket case. The recent @poguesofficial gigs have massively triggered me and I am back drinking and not sleeping and crying and crying and crying and not knowing what to do. I know that @ShaneMacGowan is happy in his new existence but it is still so unbelievably painful that I struggle to stay alive down here and it was like having a million knives stuck in the wounds to see the Pogues playing in his favourite places without him as if he had never existed. I know that there are people out there who understand this and I hope you are not judging yourself for not being ok because we are human beings and this shit hurts like hell. Oh and thank you @TheBarrowlands for giving @ShaneMacGowan the award I will cherish it because he loved your venue and I only wish I could have been the one to collect it for him
