In some UK cancer centres, patients now wait 3 months between the decision to treat and the start of radiotherapy. Our new @TheLancetOncol commentary on the UK's radiotherapy workforce crisis https://t.co/9bi4mIFCwz👇

💡 Our proposal: a GMC-recognised radiation oncology pathway built on RCR standards, with credentialing and mentorship.
Where a post exists primarily to meet radiotherapy demand, dual competence shouldn't be a prerequisite.
Excited to kick off our 3-day conference on IMRT implementation at the Institute of Oncology in Chișinău, Moldova with a historical overview of target volume delineation by our keynote speaker Dr. Christian Chiricuță.
Thank you https://t.co/RvFxboGzWl for sponsoring!
I am thrilled to announce our workshop on Hypofractionated RT delivered in English, Ukrainian, and Romanian on October 28 and November 4. This event is co-organized with Dr. @Dr_Oleksandr_O and supported by @VarianMedSys and https://t.co/RvFxboGzWl

🌍Our program shows how collaboration and teamwork in oncology can save lives by reducing delays, overcoming barriers, and financing care. We must strengthen our collective ability to help cancer pts fleeing future conflicts, climate change, and other humanitarian crises.
🇺🇦Final report on our Cancer Care Program for Ukrainian refugees in Moldova and Romania is published today in @TheLancetOncol. Grateful for our amazing team, our partners @UNmigration, and the many oncologists who helped our cancer patients along the way.

💰Challenges: Early funding from @UICC and private donations kickstarted our program. However, grants for humanitarian work are almost non-existent in our oncology community. Funding for research and education cannot be used to help refugees in a time of war. We can do better!
A first report on the Moldovan branch of our Cancer Care Program for Ukrainian refugees is published in EJC. To date we helped over 150 pts access care in Romania and Moldova. Grateful for @uicc’s ongoing support and for our collab with @UNmigration

Dr @HoriaVulpe is my hero. He chased his passion in global health to help cancer patients in Ukraine. He changed the lives of many. These are the many skill sets of #radonc training. I am humbled to be his colleague. #leadership@ASTRO_org@ARRO_org

First tweet! Just finished an amazing 2 hour e-Boot Camp on spine SBRT with @SahgalArjun at the Queen’s Cancer Center. Learned a ton and ready to beam on! Mahalo!! 🤙@MMayedaMD@StuTsu808
In all healthcare, and esp in onc care, I like using the term #PhysicalDistancing rather than #socialdistancing during #COVID19. As we know, our patients will take our advice literally, so we don't want them unnecessarily isolating themselves emotionally! #radonc@arro@astro
