Barcelona needed a player who could control the midfield against PSG but Flick brought on Gavi. That was when I started feeling we would eventually lose the game.
Olmo was substituted because of injury, and our next best option was Frenkie de Jong. Thatβs why I was so pissed when Flick refused to bring him on vs betis even when we were leading Betis 4-2 with 10 men.
Flick needs to stop this stubborn nonsense of sidelining players he clearly doesnβt want to use. Frenkie is miles better than Gavi when it comes to controlling the tempo, dictating play, and keeping possession under pressure. We already have Pedri for that creative role and players like Rodri for defensive work and interceptions.
You could even see it with Balde yesterday. He seems to have lost some of that explosiveness and pace that made him so dangerous going forward.
Flick needs to understand that constantly making questionable decisions and sidelining important players can destroy their confidence. Barcelona need the best players on the pitch, not Flickβs personal favourites.

As seen in yesterday's Inter Miami match against Atlanta United, Messi has no issue playing on the stadium's FieldTurf CORE surface when he is fully fit...
The rumor that Lionel Messi refuses to play on artificial turf is entirely false.
While British tabloids initially speculated that Messi wouldn't play on synthetic surfaces after moving to MLS, Messi directly addressed the rumors in a press conference, stating that he grew up playing on artificial turf in his youth academy days and has no problem adapting to it.
