7 Dilemmas Learnt from Brentford 3 - 0 Chelsea | by Sayo Aluko
1] Any team with hunger will defeat Chlesea FC. Any team with hunger, not better talent, not better Manager, not better history, just hunger, and they'll defeat Chelsea. Of all the 10 Egyptian plagues inflicting us since Roman, this lack of visible desire and hunger hurts me the most; becoming vacant in gravitas. Like, every team with hunger have been defeating Chelsea for 5 seasons.
2] This above is why as a veteran Chelsea fan, WHO KNOWS, I can't blame these losses on just missing key players. Jesus! I watched Cudicini willing to play after a concussion against Reading! Branislav played with a bloodied toe! Terry constantly played through fractured ribs, broken toes, and slipped discs. Dave ran with a hamstring tear, same for Diego Costa. My goodness! Tactics and talent aside, why have we become and statues this soft and wanting FGS!!!
3] Henderson football wasn't great great, but I'm certain he also saw No.s 1 and 2 above; explains why he was a cheerleader cum town-crier than a footballer on the pitch today. Man kept talking and egging and screaming to teammates who couldn't just get it.
4] New name alert: Pedro Neto ❌ Pedro NOTHING ✅ I don't and WON'T understand why Xabi Alonso starts him at all; let alone leave him on this long.
5] Life is harsh on stupidity. In football particularly, it almost always punishes it immediately. When the game was still 0-0, Chavarria was through and free, a square-play to Welbeck, Cole Palmer, Rogers or Neto would have resulted in a tap-in [goal], but the Vallecano import chose volcanic stupidity and shot into air. Brentford scored seconds later and grew in confidence. Game up.
6] 12 goals conceded in 5 premier league games is inexplicable. It is traumatic for Chelsea fans who watched Chelsea concede only 15 goals in 38 games in '04/05. Bring in John Terry and Carvalho now!!!!! And Xavi, it is Lacroix and Acheampong. Dump Levi and Fofana with the speed with which you dumped Sanchez.
7] You have 3 weeks to think about your life Xabi Alonso. I still trust you. But now, think about your life and focus on Carabao and the FA Cup. Also, congratulate Arteta or Enzo Maresca already during this international break. Forget the Premier League and use this season to restore heart and warriors in Cobham.
PS: Please, recommend a romantic movie where the lover boy dies. I need sweet tears to replace this salty one I'm currently shedding.

As our children resume school today, we lift them up before the throne of grace. We commit their lives, education, relationships, health, and future into the hands of the Almighty God.

At Methodist Boy High School, they told him to read like his life depended on it. He has said he studied 9pm to 3am. Best graduating student of his set.
Got a Scholarship to the University of Reading, UK. PhD in Molecular Genetics in three years. Then he came home.
Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, Yaba. Dozens of scientific papers. He is widely called the first Nigerian scientist to clone genes.
In October 1989 at his Living room in Yaba, there were Twenty-four people in a prayer meeting.
That meeting became Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries.
On 24 April 1994, the first service was held on a rough piece of land at Onike, Yaba. Swamp. Weeds. Makeshift roof.
Today MFM is in many countries.
Prayer City sits on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway. Mountain Top University. He was named Professor of Biotechnology there.
UNILAG later gave him a Doctor of Science.
The books are the other pulpit. Prayer Rain is the one most houses know.

Before many people met him as General Overseer, Dr Daniel Kolawole Olukoya was already in a lab coat at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, Yaba.
He did not abandon the food Nigerian mothers already trusted. He honoured ittt
Ogi. Akamu.
The very same pap in our kitchens.
With his colleagues he built DogiK: the same Pap staple, started with chosen Lactobacillus so it could stand up to the germs that steal children through diarrhoea.

1] I have a very strong feeling we'll win the league. After this kind of game we had, despite using a makeshift midfield, I don't think there's a need to spell it out that we stand a very solid chance at winning the league. Yes, let the banter against us flow tonight, but everyone, rivals included, knew what they watched from us today. If this is Matchday 3 Chelsea under a Manager who already knows how to win.....👉⏳⏳. Please, perish the thought, Alonso does NOT need time, we'll just see a ruthless Chelsea in a matter of time, A.K.A, soon.
2] And no, I am not being "positive" or picking out positives. I am just stating fact, 'cos I am seeing things, clear improvements that every keen and true Chels would [and should] see. Xabi's third game against the meanest defense in the league and a cohesive side, yet, we managed to not only score [kudos to RPJ - Rogers | Palmer | Joao] but we actually had a good shot at winning the game. So, naaah, definitely not losing my head over this loss. Rather, I feel confident that the lessons to further perfect our output are clear.
3] And the lessons? Better reading of the game to make timely subs; a point Xabi himself echoed post-match. I think Lavia left too early and we didn't need to watch Neto that long; safe to say Estevao will force himself into the first 11 sooner than we all thought. Lesson 2? A need to get more clinical in front of goal in games like this one where goalscoring chances can become as scarce as a heat in Alaska. I am glad these lessons came this early via a test against a good side. Again, it's matchday 3, meaning, we lost to Arsenal's better cohesion and longer time together, not better quality per se.
4] Yes, Reece was lazy today, but guys, do not crash out because of that. In this same game last season, Reece led 10-man Chelsea to a solid display that earned him a Man-of-the-Match nod. He is a true Chels and I'm sure you can all bank on the fact that he'd bounce back fast from this.

6] The Referee had a poor outing. Debatable calls across the game that didn't necessarily influence the lessons or the outcome, but that swung some bits of momentum Arsenal's way. Gabriel missed the ball and consequently hit Martinez's head; he should have seen red for clear dangerous play; Palmer was also lucky to get only one yellow; Arsenal's second goal came off a clear but overlooked Konsa foul on Rogers; and oh, what was that Declan Rice???? Thought you were above dark arts and cynical behaviour.
7] On Martinez; Arsenal's first goal was saveable but he also played a solid part in keeping us in the game.

Fellow Blues, I do not understand some of our fans' panic or negative frenzy over Enzo's exit. Yes, we conceded 5 in two games mostly because our midfield was as penetrable as a yes-man's head, but it was not solely because Enzo was absent.
Every true blue agrees we need to sort our midsection, and while we need additional personnel to deal with that, I do NOT think it is the singular problem. Let me rephrase, IF we don't get a midfielder this window, we won't collapse. [We will, Xabi is not a fool - In fact, check my next post to meet our latest defensive midfield addition. Take tissues along because you'll shed tears of joy]
Why we'll not collapse? 👉 I believe our current midsection problem is suffering more from cohesion than lack. What will not make it easy to see my point here is the injuries to Palestra and Caicedo; but even with the available options of Reece, Barco, Lavia, cohesion is the mostly-needed framework, not the addition of personnel.
This is true considering two things: [i] we won't be stuck at zero cohesion perpetually, it's still relatively early, and I already see growing chances for proper gelling.
[ii] our solidity in other departments is not a coping mechanism, it is complementary: so, we won't suffer.
Okay, three things [iii] Caicedo won't be injured forever and there are rumours he's already back in training, near fit.

7 Things Learnt from Fulham 2 - 3 Chlesea | by Sayo Aluko
1] The @premierleague kicked off 4 days ago, but it took Chelsea playing for excitement to finally kick in. Damn! What an exciting game this was. 26 combined attempts on goal in the first half alone. Both teams were willing to play football, and thankfully, the better team won. Our attack was ruthless, our midfield was decent, our defense was good but 'twas riddled with Judas Iscariots.
2] Bale-Benzema-Ronaldo; BBC. Messi-Suarez-Neymar; MSN. Mane-Firmino-Salah; MFS. Mata-Hazard-Oscar; MAZACAR. Ladies and gentlemen, Rogers-Palmer-Joao will join this league of domineering attacking trios in no time. Today, they shared goals, shared assists, overlapped positions, Rogers found rhythm later than Joao and Palmer, but as the game grew, they fell in fluid sync like three lovers dancing original Cuban Salsa in downtown Havana. Humans of football, get familiar with RPJ!
3] Like I predicted from the 7 Things vs Real Sociedad, Palmer will ball harder this season. I noted that while he wasn't banging G/As and the starry highlights in pre-season, he was visibly integral to every attacking move we made in all those games. So, yes, I wasn't surprised we saw Cole play like the Palmer we all know today. His touches were orgasmic, movement was sharp and he was at his urgent best. He needs to shoot earlier than he does, but I'm certain Chelsea fans are happy to eventually see the Palmer everyone fears tonight.
4] Maxence Lacroix is a steal. That's all. ...Or wait, he was as solid as a vault, and to our surprise, this man advances so far into enemy territory like King David's 200 to serve such ridiculously good assist? Do you realize he now has more assists than Bruno Fernandez this season? I repeat, Maxence Lacroix is a clear Clearlake heist! And when I think he is what I get after enduring Tosin for 2-3 years, I feel tears of joy swell from my innards.
5] Our Midfield was decent like I said; Lavia and Reece did their bit across pockets in the game to keep our attack flowing, but we definitely missed Moises Caicedo. I've not read any official detail about his injury yet, but it better be a simple knock, because we need him. Lavia is smooth, Reece is physical, but both aren't rugged enough to channel their inner Caicedo. His absence today was why Fulham had the pass to run at our defensive set up at different points in the game.
6] If today's Referee was Anthony Taylor, Colwill would've seen red in the first half, rightfully so. Needless push/elbow to the Josh King lad; unnecessary petulance in pockets, and an arguable red card for a last-line miscue + miskick. Fam, I do not doubt his devotion to succeed at Chelsea, but this season is too critical to let headlesaness and indiscipline mess up our goal and momentum. He got on a yellow card, and that explained why he was overly careful in the lead up to Fulham's 2nd goal. See, we had ENOUGH and an overflow of headless headlines in the past 2-3 seasons; Levi is meant to be one of the composed leaders in this team, but he's doing all that risky thuggish nonsense in our first game back? Bro, you'll see the door if you don't see the mirror and improve your head ASAP!
7] My Notes for Xabi Alonso: [i] Prep Penders all week to start in goal, Sanchez is pure horsedung and has finally blown his 4-season long CHANCES; study the Emi Martinez situation at Aston Villa closely for Cobham. [ii] We will score a lot, but this is not the Bundesliga or Leverkusen, the PL won't always forgive or allow out-scoring your conceding/concession of goals. [iii] 3-at-back will work, but find our best defensive combo soon. [iv] Sniff out any whiff of indiscipline in this team, we need ALL their heads locked in. 1] The @premierleague kicked off 4 days ago, but it took Chelsea playing for excitement to finally kick in. Damn! What an exciting game this was. 26 combined attempts on goal in the first half alone. Both teams were willing to play football, and thankfully, the better team won. Our attack was ruthless, our midfield was decent, our defense was good but 'twas riddled with Judas Iscariots.
2] Bale-Benzema-Ronaldo; BBC. Messi-Suarez-Neymar; MSN. Mane-Firmino-Salah; MFS. Mata-Hazard-Oscar; MAZACAR. Ladies and gentlemen, Rogers-Palmer-Joao will join this league of domineering attacking trios in no time. Today, they shared goals, shared assists, overlapped positions, Rogers found rhythm later than Joao and Palmer, but as the game grew, they fell in fluid sync like three lovers dancing original Cuban Salsa in downtown Havana. Humans of football, get familiar with RPJ!
3] Like I predicted from the 7 Things vs Real Sociedad, Palmer will ball harder this season. I noted that while he wasn't banging G/As and the starry highlights in pre-season, he was visibly integral to every attacking move we made in all those games. So, yes, I wasn't surprised we saw Cole play like the Palmer we all know today. His touches were orgasmic, movement was sharp and he was at his urgent best. He needs to shoot earlier than he does, but I'm certain Chelsea fans are happy to eventually see the Palmer everyone fears tonight.
4] Maxence Lacroix is a steal. That's all. ...Or wait, he was as solid as a vault, and to our surprise, this man advances so far into enemy territory like King David's 200 to serve such ridiculously good assist? Do you realize he now has more assists than Bruno Fernandez this season? I repeat, Maxence Lacroix is a clear Clearlake heist! And when I think he is what I get after enduring Tosin for 2-3 years, I feel tears of joy swell from my innards.
5] Our Midfield was decent like I said; Lavia and Reece did their bit across pockets in the game to keep our attack flowing, but we definitely missed Moises Caicedo. I've not read any official detail about his injury yet, but it better be a simple knock, because we need him. Lavia is smooth, Reece is physical, but both aren't rugged enough to channel their inner Caicedo. His absence today was why Fulham had the pass to run at our defensive set up at different points in the game.
6] If today's Referee was Anthony Taylor, Colwill would've seen red in the first half, rightfully so. Needless push/elbow to the Josh King lad; unnecessary petulance in pockets, and an arguable red card for a last-line miscue + miskick. Fam, I do not doubt his devotion to succeed at Chelsea, but this season is too critical to let headlesaness and indiscipline mess up our goal and momentum. He got on a yellow card, and that explained why he was overly careful in the lead up to Fulham's 2nd goal. See, we had ENOUGH and an overflow of headless headlines in the past 2-3 seasons; Levi is meant to be one of the composed leaders in this team, but he's doing all that risky thuggish nonsense in our first game back? Bro, you'll see the door if you don't see the mirror and improve your head ASAP!
7] My Notes for Xabi Alonso: [i] Prep Penders all week to start in goal, Sanchez is pure horsedung and has finally blown his 4-season long CHANCES; study the Emi Martinez situation at Aston Villa closely for Cobham. [ii] We will score a lot, but this is not the Bundesliga or Leverkusen, the PL won't always forgive or allow out-scoring your conceding/concession of goals. [iii] 3-at-back will work, but find our best defensive combo soon. [iv] Sniff out any whiff of indiscipline in this team, we need ALL their heads locked in.
