This Dangote figures are very very funny.
They isn’t growth volume of cement production, Infact in terms of pan African production they had a drop in volume.
The cost of sales isn’t exponentially higher when you compare 2024 to 2025.
But there is way higher revenue and they are in more profit.
Profit and gains are driven by price solely and not production.
Invariably we are just paying more than necessary for cement.
That’s a mischievous tweet right there.
The legal provision which enables FIRS to deploy 3rd party technology platforms for tax administration is not new.
Buhari introduced it at the end of 2021 when he signed the Finance Act 2021 into law.
The tax reform committee have only paraphrased the wordings and extended it to cover not just FIRS, but also the tax authorities of all states of the federation.
It gets tiring trying to have a debate on issues when we aren’t on the same page.
The issue Cardoso referred to was the GROWTH RATES of economy vs money supply. That is what gives an indication of skewness. Not the actual value of the money supply by itself.

I had the opportunity to engage with @BillGates. We discussed our ongoing fiscal reforms and various measures to improve the quality of spending on health, education, and to enhance agricultural productivity, which are some of the priority areas for his foundation.
We are positive that our reforms, when fully implemented, will be transformational for Nigeria to the benefit of Africa and serve as a reference point for the rest of the world.

In a transformative move to revitalize the Nigerian health sector, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR @officialABAT, has signed an Executive Order aiming to increase local production of healthcare products (pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, devices such as needles and syringes, biologicals, medical textile, etc.). The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation @FedMinOfJustice, Prince Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi SAN, @LOFagbemi, is to now take the next steps towards codifying the new Order.
The Order is pivotal to the success of the Initiative for Unlocking the Health Care Value Chain (@PVAC_NG), which was approved in October 2023 by the President.
The Order introduces zero tariffs, excise duties and VAT on specified machinery, equipment and raw materials, aiming to reduce production costs and enhance our local manufacturers’ competitiveness. Specified items include Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (#APIs), excipients, other essential raw materials required for manufacturing of crucial health products like drugs, syringes and needles, Long-lasting Insecticidal Nets (#LLINs) and Rapid Diagnostic Kits, among others.
The Order also provides for establishing market shaping mechanisms such as framework contracts and volume guarantees, to encourage local manufacturers.
The Order mandates collaboration between the Ministers of Health @Fmohnigeria, Finance @FinMinNigeria, and Industry, Trade and Investment @TradeInvestNG to develop a Harmonized Implementation Framework, expediting regulatory approvals and reducing bottlenecks. Agencies including the Nigeria Customs Service @NgCustoms, @NafdacAgency, @SONNigeria, and @FIRSNigeria will ensure swift implementation, with special waivers and exemptions effective for two years.
The implication of this order is pivot towards market-based incentives to encourage medical industrialization, reducing costs of medical products through import substitution over time, creating and retaining economic value and enabling job creation in the healthcare value chain.
We thank Mr President for his courage and commitment to ensure Nigeria is put back on the path to prosperity. We also thank all who contributed to the ideas that culminated in the consensus that resulted in this key milestone.
