Moderated a panel discussion with industry leaders at the FADA Auto Retail Conclave. Optimism for growth across 2W, PV & CV sectors persists as we head into the festive season. India remarkably insulated from global turmoil.
@niranjanprabhu@volklub@autocarindiamag Exactly! Contamination was always a problem & this is now on off-ramp for those who said E20 would destroy E10 cars! Note how only the fuel quality bits from my interview have been cherry picked. The key “no need to panic” quote ignored by fearmongers & exposes their bias!
Brazilian experts say E10 car owners don’t need to panic using E20. 50 year experience says even carburetted cars not designed to run on ethanol had no major issues. Problems more with E85-E100. This interview is ‘must watch’ https://t.co/hktkwCnu7E
@Aarjibhai Yes fuel efficiency is core issue which is hurting customers. However, most OEMs have good materials buffer so going from E10 to E20 not an issue. Experts in Brazil say it’s hard to correlate normal wear and tear with that specific to increased ethanol.
@Aarjibhai Fuel efficiency is certainly down. My contacts in workshops, car companies say no other major issues. Water ingress / moisture in monsoon can be an issue and damage fuel pump but will affect E20 car too. Would love to see your ‘report’ 😊
@shreemallatheru@evelectree Thank you 🙏 We don’t proclaim to be experts but what we do is speak to experts with huge experience to form our opinions. None of these influencers have ever interviewed any expert on this topic sadly.
@ranaprshnt@evelectree Completely agree. After scaring E10 car owners that their cars were going die a slow death with E20, the narrative has now shifted to contamination. This is an issue that cranky impacts all cars! Setting proper standards is first step in controlling it.
@ab97917000 You obviously haven’t bothered to watch the interview Brazil forced E20 from the beginning! And when cars were carburetted! And there was no major problem.
@evelectree Thanks Suhail. Very few appreciate objective source based journalism. Have been saying all along that E10 to E20 not catastrophic but have been trolled for that. Now the influencer narrative has shifted to contamination which also impacts E20 cars!
