I saw news reports that the Centre has achieved only about 2% of the forest cover increase target set under the Green India Mission during the last 10 years, a shortfall of 98%.
Be it Smart Cities, GDP growth, per capita GDP, doubling farmers’ income, increasing non farm employment, or raising manufacturing’s contribution to GDP - the list of missed targets is very long.
During the last 12 years, progress has been made in certain areas, but overall it represents wasted opportunities.
Given the huge electoral mandate from the people, how much more could have been achieved?
I did some research on the Green India Mission.
Sixteen states and Union Territories are covered under it.
Tamil Nadu is not part of GIM.
The state has its own Green Tamil Nadu Mission, launched at the beginning of this decade under the Tamil Nadu Green Climate Company (TNGCC).
The goal was set to increase forest and tree cover to 33% of the geographical area by 2031 from the then existing level of approximately 24%.
During the last few years of active implementation, several crore seedlings have been planted, mangrove forests have been restored, wetlands have been given priority leading to the state having the highest number of Ramsar sites in the country despite comprising only about 4% of India’s geographical area and coastal restoration work has been ongoing. So there has been measurable progress.
It currently appears to be on track toward the 33% forest and tree cover target by 2031.
Its a full blown scam becoz people ought to know “why” is Modi ji soooo desperate to impose E20 on India despite consumers and experts criticising it so vociferously
SIAM’s July 28 letter flagged chloride levels of up to 500 mg/kg in vehicle fuel samples, with contamination up to 350 mg/kg at fuel outlets. It noted that chloride-related issues increased specifically after E20 implementation.
SIAM also warned that chloride can corrode fuel and exhaust-system components, potentially causing permanent engine damage.
This is how Ethanol was implemented 4 years before time - as narrated by honorable shri Gadkari ji
1/ Get the standards from US
2/ Remove the heading
3/ Put a stamp
4/ And it's done.
Why to waste time in experimenting (in Indian conditions) and then preparing standards for 5 years?
If US has made these standards, they must be right only.

Yess… that’s exactly what even @nitin_gadkari is saying. He’s just appreciating the efforts put into the so called ‘years of policy, capacity building, planning, blah blah blah…😂
Haddh hai yaar 😂😂
This video has shocked me and my conscience.
I spent most of the day in denial, thinking, no, it can’t be true.
➡️ No government in the world would be so reckless as to throw over 28 odd crore motorists under the bus.
➡️ No government would be so ruthless and selfish.
➡️ No government would be so compromised.
As humans, it’s natural for us to seek goodness; it’s ingrained to be trusting and helpful.
I was terribly wrong 😑.
We have modern traitors and thieves as union ministers—these people are pimps who have sold India 🇮🇳.
PM Modi is not the brightest and can be a moron in every sense of the word — but don’t misunderstand, he is a very shrewd, cunning, and bloodthirsty narcissist. He has survived scrutiny for the last five decades.
E20 is a political decision (to keep winning UP & Maharashtra) and a literal lifeline for Modi personally — he is too compromised and an evil individual.
The United States of America is an external actor with vested interests, and Modi & his cabinet are now evidently agents of the USA.
Nitin Gadkari has mentioned USA 🇺🇸 — 4 Times
Who is ensuring that 20% of ethanol is of global standards too?
You are trying to copy better Nations where norms are followed, customer rights are protected by law, roads are far better, corruption levels are less.
Here, day by day this whole thing is getting exposed layer by layer and trust level now on this policy is absolute Zero!
Bring E5 back at the same cost.
Car companies know that E20 fuel is hurting their customers. Still, they can't openly oppose it.
You can't upset the government if you have to do business in the country.
The demand to halt the E20 mandate is growing.
The BJP government handled it very poorly from the beginning, and because of that, people across the country are suffering.
This is a democracy, not a dictatorship or a monarchy, where anything can simply be imposed on the people.
Exclusive: Hours after India made public assurances last week that its ethanol-blended petrol was safe, the country's main auto lobby withdrew a complaint about fuel contamination it had sent to the government a week earlier. The group said some figures needed more checks.
But separate communications between industry executives, reviewed by Reuters, showed that in the preceding days, top automakers Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Mahindra discussed their concerns about contamination of petrol blended with 20% ethanol, called E20.
The carmakers' emails show for the first time how they are privately worried about contaminants in E20, like chloride and moisture, which they say are hurting vehicles, even as they publicly back the government's rollout of the fuel https://t.co/EMEBwbJeF1
