A study by the Menopause Experts Group has found suicide rates for women between 45 - 54 have risen 6% in the last 20 years. These harrowing findings defy the trend of falling suicide rates in older women, indicating that menopause may be a pivotal factor https://t.co/qjyCDXw1pT
@LaraBriden And yet when my daughter asked for a non-hormonal IUD her doctor dismissed her and sent her a prescription for a hormonal IUD. Obviously being the daughter of an advocate my daughter switched doctors immediately. #advocate#educate#hormones
My daughter is turning 22...she would have been my 3rd miscarriage. I had to advocate for myself HARD back in 1999 to get progesterone and my ob/gyn at the time told me it was a placebo effect. I now have 3 progesterone babies and no more miscarriages. #grateful#advocate
Finally, a formal recommendation to prescribe natural progesterone to try to hold a pregnancy.
"This is a very significant moment," said one of the authors of the new study. "And gives hope to thousands of couples." https://t.co/MjtTaQ0YI7

It's always great to see valuable, relatable research finding its way into more people's hands! @jenniferheisz is an expert on the complex relationship between physical and mental health. https://t.co/2ii40DoxZB
New #research finds that common treatment for #endometriosis may not be as effective as thought: https://t.co/KBmGRo27tf This highlights the urgent need for more #research (like this study) into effectiveness of different treatments to support all those living with the condition
@blamethehormone We know the truth! That person wasn't qualified to make that comment. I'd be activated too. We are only going to reach people who have a reasonable state of mind - this person clearly doesn't. You're doing amazing work - thank you for your advocacy - you reach women globally! xo
Photo ,today, of the place where I hid out after I ran away from residential school in1962; this was a warm loving and bustling home ; I hid under beds , in back rooms and in bushes around the house if ANYONE came by until end of school year
@carlyfindlay Awh...I have the fondest of memories reading ALL of books with my kids. His books are my favorite baby gifts to give. Sad to hear he passed. What a treasure he left us with. 📚 I LOVE your dress!
@KateClancy Thank you for this!!!! Menstrual cycle data collected = Yay! I’m only 3 days post vaccine but will see what happens. I’m in peri menopause and very few cycles now. Almost none. But not 12 months. I’ll be happy to participate in your study/survey. 6”thank you!
Menstrual cycle data is an important marker of a woman’s overall health and yet is rarely collected! Please participate in this survey about your menstruation and covid vaccine - international, over 18 years and had a period? You probably qualify for the IRB approved study.
Youre right @blamethehormone ! There is SO MUCH about hormone health that we need to draw attention to! Starting from Teen all through our lifespan to and through Menopause! So glad to have ANY of these convos. #shinethelight on #womenshealth#hormones
Delighted that @ThisisDavina covered #Menopause last night but I wish they had spoken about the #PMDD, #PMS#PND link to hormones. For me it started when I was 14 and now I’m 49..
Serotonin is the key #hormone that is responsible for your mood and feelings. If you feel unusually irritable or down for no apparent reason you may have low #serotonin levels. #HormoneTherapy

The side effects occur because:
1) progestins are not progesterone
2) progestins at that dose can suppress ovulation and cause anovulatory bleeding.
Check out my blog post to learn the difference between a real period, an anovulatory bleed, and a pill-bleed.
