We need God's wisdom, but we also need to be willing to follow it when it doesn't agree with what we want.
Go back to the secret place.
God still speaks.
Before you make that decision today,
pray about it.
Not just, “God, bless my plans.”
Ask Him, “Lord, is this what You want me to do?”
Then open your Bible.
Dear young Nigerian,
At times, it may feel as if others are way ahead of you in life. This creates a feeling of inadequacy. Don't feel pressured to impress others around you. Run at your own pace as you journey through life. You are not late. You are simply on your way. Thrive!
Not every opportunity is from God.
Not every open door needs to be entered.
Not every person deserves access to you.
Ask God for wisdom, not just opportunities.
Because sometimes the blessing is knowing what to say no to.
Sometimes you already know what to do.
You just don't like the answer.
So you keep asking different people until someone tells you what you want to hear.
Wisdom is not always getting another answer.
Sometimes it's obeying the one God has already given you.
Before you ask God for more today, take a moment to thank Him for what you already have.
Your life may not look like what you hoped for.
But you're still here. God has kept you. Thank Him. Then tell Him what is on your heart.
Sometimes God is preparing you for what you've been praying for.
And sometimes, He's teaching you to be content without it.
Both are important.
Don't make your happiness dependent on receiving the thing you're asking God for.
There is nothing wrong with wanting more.
More money.
A better job.
A better life.
A bigger opportunity.
Just be careful that "more" doesn't become the reason you're never grateful for what God has already given you.
