After spending a few weeks as pupae, adult #bumblebee workers emerge. These bees are silvery-white at first, but will soon gain their full colours and should be ready to go out foraging once their wings harden (after about 24h). The queen now has a colony! #queenemergence
Our feathered friends need us more than ever in these wintry conditions, so please give them fresh food and water if you're able to venture out. If you haven't got any bird food, apple cores or small amounts of finely grated mild cheese would be better than nothing 🙂🦆🦉
