I left X because it has been changed too much. I've popped back in just to say I'm having fun with my new projects over on Substack https://t.co/h8EO2UKJjA and Threads https://t.co/WmorHvOaaW. Come say hi.

I didn't catch much of the #Openingceremony at #Paris2024#OlympicGames but the optics of seeing bedraggled people from all over the world arriving in small boats and being welcomed with open arms was hard to beat
@FlashCric#bbccricket Something odd about the Duckett review ball-tracking. Took an age to come up and then it looked cobbled together. Wickets Hitting really looked like Umpire's Call. And no ball-hitting-stump 3D graphic. It looked out to the naked eye but was something wrong with DRS?
@FredBoycott The law clearly puts the onus on the umpire at the bowler's end to declare the ball dead. Serious question: how does the Third Umpire work out that his colleague thinks the ball is dead? Would he have checked video footage of his colleague reaching for the bowler's cap?
@Carra23 Maybe you are making the mistake of listening to the Sky commentary? Just get TMS on. Takes a bit of pausing to sync it with the TV pictures but well worth it for a more level-headed analysis...
#BBCCricket Yesterday's main talking point? The genius captaincy to get Kawaja out. Well done Ricky Pointing for changing the narrative but I'm not buying it. That was great cricket!
@RestIsPolitics@campbellclaret@RoryStewartUK Sir James Eadie KC has been called on for independent legal advice on NIP, BBC reporting and now the Manston Affair, when the Government's internal legal advice didn't suit the Minister. Genuine quedtion: is that normal or is he the Patrick Minford of Law?
"Come on Cathy, you've broken the law, I've broken the law ... we've all broken the law."

Has the UK got wise to the #populist playbook? https://t.co/8PhQz6KpsP
If you want a clear example of autocratic, populist language, as opposed to the language of democracy, you'd do well to find a better example than this...
If this witch hunt continues, it will be the most egregious abuse of power witnessed in Westminster. It will cast serious doubt not only on the reputation of individual MPs sitting on the committee, but on the processes of Parliament and democracy itself https://t.co/2Pwm7VQ7WI
Rishi Sunak wants to define ‘vilification of the UK’ as extremism
"vilify (v) - speak or write about in an abusively disparaging manner"
I guess there'll be a queue then 🤔
