🚨 Graham Platner has withdrawn from Maine’s U.S. Senate race after facing mounting pressure following two recent sexual misconduct allegations, including a rape allegation, both of which he denies.

Platner, a former U.S. Marine, war veteran, and one of the very few anti-war and anti-genocide candidates in the 2026 election cycle, said the allegations are “all false” and that he was ending his campaign because the “political reality” was that party leaders and major donors “are going to take everything away from us,” making it impossible to continue. “We’re not doing it because of the allegations,” he said.

The Maine Democratic Party must now choose a replacement nominee by July 27 to challenge Republican Sen. Susan Collins. Platner urged party leaders to make the selection through an “open, transparent and democratic” process that reflects “the will and the values of the people of Maine,” not decisions made “in back rooms.”
