Jesus is showing that you don’t have to be a blood relative to be part of His family, but that doesn’t mean He doesn’t honor His relatives too

Christ shows we should praise her for her following the will of God, but He obeys her because she is His Mother. We are commanded to obey our parents even if they are not perfectly virtuous
