This is nonsense dressed up as honesty. British bills are among Europe's highest because successive governments — of both parties — refused to build and refused to produce.
The UK has not commissioned a nuclear power station that actually opened since Sizewell B in 1995. Instead UK squeezed another decade and more out of the old British Energy AGR fleet, running reactors far beyond the lives their own accounts assumed, because no one in Westminster wanted to own a twenty-year decision. Hinkley Point C was meant to be lighting homes by now. That is not the failure of privatisation. That is the failure of politicians to plan beyond a parliament.
UK then did the same to the North Sea sitting on a mature, world-class basin with the skills and supply chain to match, and taxing it at a headline 78 per cent, rewriting the terms repeatedly, and told investors their licences have no future. So production falls faster than demand, and they import the same molecules by tanker — at a higher price, with a bigger carbon footprint, and with the jobs offshored to Qatar and Texas.
Solar panels on libraries will not fix this. Baseload will. Until a government is willing to say so, bills will stay high — whoever owns the wires.

I met with the warriors of the 21st Separate Unmanned Systems Regiment “Kraken,” who are taking part in Operation Vivaldi.
We discussed the regiment’s needs, the warriors’ participation in operations, scaling up the military’s unmanned capabilities, developing ground robotic systems, providing crews with the equipment they need, and allocating E-points.
I presented awards to the defenders of the 21st Regiment, the 125th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade, and the 25th Separate Anti-Tank Battalion for their participation in Operation Vivaldi. Thank you for defending Ukraine and for a highly successful operation. For your courage and heroism, and for achieving the right result that brings our state closer to justice. And justice means victory over the Rashists. Thank you for your service.
23:20 | Air Situation over the Swamps 👀
Things are definitely not light tonight — according to Russian monitoring estimates, there may be up to 500 little birds in the air.
The most intense activity is currently over Voronezh Oblast, where a huge number of groups have spread across almost the entire region. Some have already moved farther north toward Lipetsk and Tambov, where new detections are also appearing.
Activity remains high over Bryansk Oblast, with separate groups over Kursk and Oryol Oblasts. In the south, there are also many little birds over the sea near Crimea, with some continuing farther along the Black Sea direction.
In short, the map is looking much livelier tonight — up to 500 UAVs, with the main mass gradually spreading deeper into the swamps 👀

🚨 23:40 | Air Situation over the Swamps 👀
The most activity right now is over Bryansk Oblast, where numerous separate groups of little birds have gathered, with some already moving farther north.
Things are quieter in the border regions for now: separate groups are being detected over Kursk and Belgorod Oblasts. Several more little birds are present over Luhansk and Donetsk Oblasts, as well as Rostov Oblast.
The south is also worth watching — activity is once again picking up along the Black Sea coast of Krasnodar Krai. Several detections have already been reported around Sochi, and the airport is closed.
So far, the attack looks relatively light, but the main groups may still arrive 👀

Obviously, the Russians are not preparing to stop their war, at least for now. Putin always finds some lame excuse – not to meet, not to hold a trilateral, not to talk, not to end it, not to stop the killing… It has been the same with him for years – and all our partners feel it. He is looking for excuses to keep waging the war. It always sounds the same – and our recent meeting with the U.S. President showed that.
America sees the situation the same way. And Russia must develop a desire to spend money not on death, but on something else – they must develop a desire to end this war. We are working on this together – with America, with Europe, with Canada, with Japan, and with many others around the world who are helping Ukraine.
In the coming days and throughout October, there will be a lot of diplomatic activity to change the situation. But beyond that, the Lindsey Graham Act, other mechanisms of pressure – all of this needs to work even harder.
🚨 00:25 | Another Update on the Little Birds 👀
The northern flow has now spread out considerably: large groups are currently over Oryol and Kaluga Oblasts, with monitoring resources showing more than 8–15 little birds in some clusters. Some have already approached Tula Oblast, where air defenses are active.
But the most interesting activity is farther in the rear. The flow from Tambov Oblast has already partially split toward Penza Oblast and Mordovia, while separate groups have reached Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. In other words, within just a few hours, the little birds have already flown very deep into Russia.
Several groups are being tracked simultaneously over Penza Oblast and Mordovia, with some continuing farther toward Chuvashia and beyond. Airports in Kaluga, Penza, Saransk, Ulyanovsk, Cheboksary and Kazan are closed.
In short, the geography has expanded even further over the past hour — from Kaluga and Tula all the way to Mordovia and Nizhny Novgorod. Let’s see just how far they decided to fly tonight 👀

Indeed, this Russian war against Ukraine and against common sense must be ended. From the first year of the full-scale invasion, its consequences have been far-reaching: the loss of many lives, the destruction of cities and villages, food security, energy challenges, the extraordinary pace of technological development, including autonomous drones, and the rapid advancement of strike capabilities never seen before. Every new week of this war, let alone every new year, adds more and more problems. From the very first minute, Ukraine has sought peace. We have already made dozens of diplomatic proposals on how to end this war with dignity, guarantee security, and prevent new Russian invasions. Right now, there is a dialogue with President Trump and America. There are also ideas on the table for bringing peace closer, starting with strong de-escalation steps. Ukraine’s energy sector, critical infrastructure, and our food exports must stop being targets for Russia, and this will lead to matching de-escalation steps on our part. Solutions are possible. We are ready to work on this, and we will discuss it with our partners on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. I thank everyone who is helping! It will no longer be the case that only the country under attack suffers. The nature of war is now such that the aggressor will suffer as well. Technology makes this possible. The strength of countries’ leadership can – and must – deliver de-escalation, security, and peace. Thank you!
🚨 22:16 | Air Situation over the Swamps
Right now, air defenses are operating very actively in Moscow Oblast, with the most activity reported around Serpukhov, Domodedovo and Troitsk. An air raid alert has even been declared in Moscow itself.
Active air-defense operations are also being reported in Kaluga, Tula, Oryol and Rostov Oblasts, as well as in Krasnodar Krai.
The main flow of little birds tonight is currently heading toward Moscow Oblast — numerous groups are passing through Kursk, Bryansk, Oryol, Kaluga and Tula Oblasts. A large number are already directly over Moscow Oblast.
Separately, several groups from Bryansk Oblast headed farther west and north — through Smolensk Oblast toward Tver Oblast, where detections have also already been reported.
We’ll post the estimated total number of little birds a little later. Next update coming soon 👀
