Santa's Sleigh is back tonight. Here is this evening's route - starting on Academy Way than moving across to The Meadows. Tomorrow (Wed) the sleigh will be over in the Vale Avenue and Butterwick Fields area. Sleightracker app should show where roughly where the sleigh is.
SANTA'S SLEIGH UPDATE - DASHED AGAIN. TODAYโS DRIVER HAS BEEN OUT TO CHECK THE ROUTE AND IT IS NOT SAFE TO TAKE THE SLEIGH OUT TONIGHT.
Sorry about this as we were all geared up for tonight.
Based on weather forecast, Santa's Sleigh will be touring Sunday evening. Starting Gresley Ave, next Brooklands to Webb St, Fox St etc to Abernathy, College Drive before returning along Victoria Road and Stocks Park Ave for Fairways etc. Track on your phone with Sleightracker app
Due to the weather conditions, Santa's Sleigh runs for the rest of this week have been cancelled.
We are planning some extra runs for next week. I will post when they have been agreed and volunteers found.
Meanwhile the sleigh will be at Aldi/Iceland daytime from Thursday-Sunday.
UPDATE 14:50 - It has become clear that it is not safe for the sleigh to be out this evening on icy roads. Please pass on apologies to all children who were expecting to see the sleigh today.
PLEASE NOTE - Due to the weather conditions, there will be no collectors going out this evening. However, the current plan is for the Sleigh to still tour the route.
Thursday night's route for Santa's Sleigh is from Pennine Road and down Fernhead Avenue.
HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT RISK THAT PENNINE ROAD AND/OR STREETS OFF MAY HAVE TO BE MISSED IF IT IS TOO ICY FOR THE SLEIGH AND HELPERS.
Santa's Sleigh is ready to roll this Friday night following the switch on of the Christmas Lights by The Mayor of Horwich (safely back from the World Cup?) outside the Crown.
It will then be on its Friday night route which includes Crown Lane, Leicester Ave and Greenstone Ave.
